The Digital Copywriter/Storyteller is responsible for skillfully crafting pitch-perfect copy for Wyndham Hotel Group's digital channels (16 world-class brands, multiple form factors). The scope includes writing for a range of efforts including branding, operational messaging, marketing offers, property page content and projects of all sizes. Possesses a strong understanding of brand tone of voice and styleguides, with the ability to translate them into engaging digital words. Digital sensibility/customer-experience acuity is critical to this role. Research, fact-checking and quality assurance are required. This position is also accountable for editing copy as called upon. Collaborates closely with digital agencies, franchisees, digital producers, designers, front-end developers, franchisee openings team, legal, customer service and marketing teams.

Responsibilities


- Translates brand tone of voice and attributes into words that are on-point for digital experiences.
- Crafts copy for marketing events, branding moments, projects, UX and operational elements:
Examples of marketing and branding efforts: about us, home pages, property pages, deals, blog, etc. Examples of projects: new site launches, redesigns, property page refactoring, video implementation and script-writing, mobile app support, sweepstakes, etc. Examples of operational elements include: error/edit messaging, instructions, forms

- Possesses the keen ability to write editorially with authenticity, positioning as travel editor. On-point, experiential travel writing is critical.
- Conducts competitive patterning and applies insights to work. Understands and appreciates the concept of mobile-first and micro-moments.
- Brainstorms/concepts campaign and ideas with Agencies, Digital Creative, Marketing and Loyalty partners.
- Crafts video and voiceover scripts for customer-facing and internal pieces.
- Addresses franchisee and customer change requests.
- Contributes to the definition and codification of Digital Copy Standards/Style Guides (master and for each brand) and ensures adherence.
- Participates in large-scale projects such as re-writing Room Type Descriptions, site redesigns, refactoring property pages and more.
- Crafts property page content for hotel openings, including editorializing the content; Performs extensive research to understand each property and validates facts.
- Partners with Saint John Customer Care Center, Field Operations and Franchise Openings Team to develop a steady-state process for making ongoing property page updates.
- Continuously writes and enriches copy on property pages based on input from franchisees and digital best practices.
- Uses Content Management System to implement copy/editorial updates.
- Performs Quality Assurance and insure any issues are prioritized and addressed (for CMS as well as customer-facing web sites).
- Supports the launch of new and emerging innovations and form factors.
- Follows digital production process and schedule, and makes recommendations to optimize the copywriting workflows and schedules.
- Makes recommendations to optimize AEM/CMS and contributes to product roadmap/enhancement list.

Qualifications


- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of copywriting in English for a world-class creative agency and/or hospitality, entertainment or retail brand
- Understanding of SEO principles
- Experience with Content Management Systems such as Adobe Experience Manager
- Experience editing copy, including an exceptional fluency with grammar, spelling and punctuation
- The following experience is preferred: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, SEO basic principles
- Must have a passion for the digital word (brand, editorial, transactional, experiential)
- Strong brand sensibilities
- Keen understanding of UX principles and digital customer experience
- Must be customer-service oriented in all communications with agencies, franchisees and cross-functional partners. Excellent follow-up skills are required.
- Must be results-driven, proactive, innovative, solutions-oriented and curious
- Able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Excellent time management, planning, and project management skills
- Attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
