Steamboat Resort Services Manager - By Wyndham Vacation Rentals

Scope : The Manager of SRS is responsible for the successful operation of the shuttle and landscaping operations for Steamboat Resorts by Wyndham Vacation Rentals. The Manager will develop and execute financial and operational plans to ensure Steamboat Resorts by Wyndham Vacation Rentals maximum profit and enhance and promote the reputation and performance of the department. The Manager will accomplish these objectives through planning, motivating and coordinating the activities of the SRS department and communicating effectively with the Executive General Manager, Senior Manager of Operations, General Managers, Homeowners and the Board of Directors of the properties under Steamboat Resorts' management . The Manager is expected to be a leader. The Manager should be able to understand the operations of a shuttle and landscape department. The Manager should be available to work shifts when necessary and understand there are times of the year when they may be asked to work 45-50 hours a week including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities: Management Related: - Provide effective leadership for SRS department staff. - Facilitate recruiting, training and retention of SRS staff. - Develop, implement and manage financial budgets for the SRS department with the assistance of the Controller and Accounting staff. - Review association financial reports monthly with the General Manager of the property. - Work with the senior leaders and controller to plan the annual operations of the SRS department. - Identify areas where performance and efficiency can be improved to increase the profitability of the business. Staff Related: - Consistently conduct staff meetings and submit minutes to the Executive General Manager and Senior Manager of Operations for review. - Conduct annual performance reviews for all part-time and full-time regular staff within SRS. - Ensure staff members are trained with cost productivity, guest services and safety in mind. - Ensure staff members are appropriately licensed for the work they are asked to perform. - Advise the HR Director of all associate disciplinary issues. - Ensure administrative paperwork is completed accurately and timely under the guidelines set forth from HR. - Provide effective motivation and leadership by example to shape associates' attitudes and performance. - Believe in and implement Count on Me training, philosophy and follow-up. - Hold all associates to appearance standards as defined in the WVR Associate Handbook. General: - Develop and maintain positive owner and guest relations. - Identify opportunities that will produce higher profit levels. - Ensure the reputation and integrity of the company is maintained through fair and honest treatment of associates, clients, homeowners, guests and vendors. Education/ Experience: - Three years of progressively responsible property management or hotel experience - Experience overseeing landscaping crews and shuttle department operations. Knowledge of: - The operational workings of a shuttle and landscape department - The business principles and practices of resort condominium management including the operational functions of the front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping departments - Association budgeting and general accounting - Staff supervision, training and performance evaluation. Skill at: - Leading a team - Effective verbal and written communication Assessing the effectiveness of SRS operations - Evaluating financial reports; - Accurately completing administrative processes and paperwork; - Willingness to occasionally work long and irregular hours; - Remaining calm and thoughtful when presented with a stressful situation; - Delegating responsibility and achieving results through effective leadership of staff; - Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with staff, guests and owners.
