Wyndham Vacation Ownership currently is looking for a Senior Learning Specialist who responsible for the day-to-day content publishing and maintenance of our Play to Win training curriculum ensuring all training is relevant, up to date and accurate for Sales Development, Recruiting and Training via our award winning iPad training application. This role will also be responsible for writing content for e-learnings, onboarding guides, newsletters, web-based communications, social media posts and more. This content specialist must demonstrate competence, experience and passion communicating in writing and verbal formats that transforms business rules and technical information into bite-sized learnings to be understood by non-technical audiences. Thorough knowledge of appropriate editorial style and publication guidelines along with demonstrated knowledge of writing, grammar, syntax, punctuation and project management is a must. This role will work under the direction of the Director of Instructional Design providing direct support to the Vice Presidents of Recruiting, Training and Sales Development.
Content Planning, Discovery, Design and Project Management:
- Understand the business objectives and goals for each project and must work within role in creating business related content in different forms for multiple purposes and audiences.
- Understand the components of different types of content.
- Exhibit knowledge of industry practices.
- Understand the audience and scope of the project.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Follow Approval workflow
Content Development, Organization, Publishing, and Maintenance
- Research, write, edit, and proofread, content within time frames established and within the scope of his/her technical ability under close supervision.
- Understand the timeshare business and sales best practices.
- Perform communication development activities, such as: content creation, glossaries, indexes, images and diagrams.
- Maintain existing training and recruiting publications.
- Participate in work sessions with corporate and field stakeholders to gather information.
- Recommend proposed functional and process solutions to supervisors.
- Create, edit, and maintain defined portions of content for different audiences and purposes.
- Meet goals for Dates and Deliverables
Partner with Corporate Communications, Brand, the Web Team and other key partners to integrate communication and to share best practices
Job requires the 25% ability to travel for short durations 1-3 days to meet with subject matter experts at WVO sales locations.
Education - BA/BS in Communications, Public Relations or related field.
Knowledge and skills - Must be able to interpret and translate product-based information into crisp, compelling communication messages focused on sales recruiting, training and development. - Exceptional written English composition skills. - Ability to take information from a subject matter expert or technical source document and create clear, easy to understand training materials or sales support tools. - Must have the ability to write for multiple media, including online/digital, mobile/social and print thorough understanding of communication principles, practices, platforms and technologies. - Able to meet tight deadlines and to juggle multiple priorities, while executing on projects in a fast-paced often pressured environment. - Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific short and long term projects which have a beginning, an end and specified deliverables dates. - Demonstrated success partnering, interacting with and influencing department leadership and other key business partners. - Capable of understanding multiple audiences and able to develop content focused on specific audience needs. - Planning, coordinating and organizing - capacity to manage own workflow, competing priorities and take responsibility for the quality of individual work. - Team Player, able to collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders at all levels - Possess a positive, can-do attitude and ability to provide excellent customer/client service - Incumbent must be self-motivated, focused, priority and deadline driven, and can effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment to produce and achieve high-quality results, with input from our owners, subject matter experts, program sponsors and other business partners. - Willingness and ability to work overtime hours to meet aggressive schedules if business continuity demands. Technical Skills - Advanced knowledge of AP Style - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, SharePoint, InDesign and Photoshop. Job experience - 3 years writing and advanced knowledge and/or experience in corporate communications, creative services or at an agency. Timeshare or Hospitality experience is a plus. Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
