The Marketing Manager, Digital and Automation will be a critical part of a transformational team that evolves RCI's marketing efforts from product centric to customer centric through the use of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform. The Marketing Manager, Digital and Automation is responsible for managing daily marketing campaigns cross-channel including email, mobile and paid media. She/he will work with cross-functional teams to manage and rigorously oversee each email, providing direction on copy, images, layout, links, and dynamic content. She/he will implement edits based on campaign team feedback and set processes to deploy campaigns and oversee any delivery issues.

The Marketing Manager, Digital and Automation will be responsible for the development of our email strategy focusing on revenue, traffic, and promotional campaigns such as activation, engagement and retention. Oversee development of email templates, which includes coding emails using HTML and CSS, conducting rendering testing across email clients and mobile devices, as well as some light work on design modification and image creation. Evaluate performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and customer engagement.

The Marketing Manager, Digital and Automation is also responsible for troubleshooting and independently solving basic platform issues leveraging the SFMC resources and support team. Digital Marketing team closely collaborates with various teams within the organization to align and achieve overall revenue and strategic goals. The position will collaborate with creative services, campaign managers, analytics, and the testing team to provide direction and evaluate current processes, and oversee tracking, and reporting of the marketing campaigns.


- Manage administration of marketing campaigns across the cloud, either in each function (email, SMS, Push, Ad studio) or through Journey Builder

- Responsible for leading management, strategic planning & analysis of platform and channel performance to drive optimization

- Oversee complex campaign workflow rules, data validation, and triggers and drive process improvements and innovations

- Ownership of deployment processes to streamline campaign execution & development

- Independently work cross-functionally to drive progress and resolve issues

- Key escalation point of contact for troubleshooting / first line of support for internal users

- Collaborate with and communicate to campaign teams to align approach and set-up with strategy

- Develop and maintain validation rules and custom work flow

- Prepare and plan future new functionality and customization or enhancements with users prior to releasing net new functionality.

- Responsible for managing meetings with other SF administrators to leverage process and learnings

- Assist in the management of email vendors and agencies, maximizing performance and investment

- Drive platform projects from inception to completion working collaboratively with a cross-functional team


Basic Qualifications:

- BA/BS degree, Certificate in Web Technologies, or 1 year of dynamic email and/or web development.

- 3 to 5 years direct experience executing email marketing campaigns preferably via ExactTarget

- Extremely detail oriented; ensures work is correct before releasing while still meeting deadlines

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required

- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills

- Project management experience

- Self-starter; completes tasks fully, accurately and independently

- Methodical with a desire to test, learn and iterate

- Solid analytical and problem solving skills

- Innovative focus with an eye on continual improvement

- Ability to successfully communicate both verbally and in writing

- Service oriented mindset

- Demonstrate sound business judgment and decision making skills

- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices including CAN-SPAM Laws and deliverability best practices

- Basic understanding of the role of tagging / pixels in the function and measurement of digital marketing

- Understand and appreciate a customer-centric approach and culture

- Minimum 5 years' experience building email marketing campaigns utilizing, content areas, portfolio, segmentation, automation, tracking and analytics to make data driven decisions to optimize their email campaigns

Preferred Qualifications:

- SQL knowledge a plus

- Responsive web / email design experience a plus
