Based in Alshaya's head office in Kuwait and reporting to the VP Starbucks, the Head of Supply Chain & Planning will be given the mandate to manage all aspects related to the end-to-end supply chain process for the Starbucks and Teavana brands across the Middle East.
The role
- To manage the end-to-end supply chain including logistics, procurement, distribution and demand planning for the Starbucks and Teavana brands across the ME.
- To develop and maintain short to medium term logistics strategies ensuring regular communication with all internal and external key stakeholders.
- To implement systems for effective and accurate forecasting, inventory and replenishment at all levels.
- To manage supply arrangements, interacting strongly with Starbucks' support services and local suppliers.
- To understand the operating markets in order to develop and refine such strategies.
- To monitor performance of the supply chain and prepare yearly business plans and budgets.
- To manage cost and inventory controls.
- To develop internal and external networks to ensure effective communication and representation between operational areas in order to meet and exceed their needs.
- To be responsible of developing the teams to achieve targets, ensuring cost reduction and improved service levels are maintained.
- To coach, develop and manage a team which exists across multiple locations/regions.
The requirements
- 15 years gained in demand and supply planning within FMCG or retail.
- Experience of managing supply chain strategies across multiple regions is a must.
- Food manufacturing experience is essential.
- A degree in business, logistics management or a related field would be an advantage.
- A certification in Transportation and Logistics is an added advantage.

- Strong influencing skills & an excellent negotiator.
- Comfortable in managing highly complex businesses.
- Proven track record of delivering success through teamwork.
