The Crowne Plaza brand is returning to the Garden City of Christchurch and we are beginning the recruitment process for this exciting project.

Opening mid-2017, Crowne Plaza Christchurch will be a 204-room hotel consisting of an all-day dining restaurant, cocktail bar, deli café and function space. Located in the CBD, the property is in close proximity to the new Christchurch Convention Centre and Town Hall. We are looking for a Director of Finance & Business Support to join our team.

Reporting to the General Manager and the Area Director of Finance & Business Support, you'll supervise all members of the Accounting Department, provide functional guidance to Executive Committee and Department Heads, interact with hotel's legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business and to provide business support.

Assisting and providing financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget and Key Performance Objectives, Cash flow projection and performance through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances as well as the monthly preparation of actual results against budget, analyse results and recommend to Executive Committee measures required to meet budget as well as prepare a consolidated quarterly position assessments for the General Manager.<br><br> Ideally you'll have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Commerce (or equivalent), Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualifications preferred. You'll have a minimum of 8 years in Finance with at least 4 years in a Management position. You'll have great communication and negotiation skills, excellent knowledge of the hotel business and hotel accounting software e.g. Sun, PeopleSoft & / or Essbase. A basic knowledge of hotel reservations system(s) e.g. Opera, Fidelio and hotel point of sales system(s) e.g. Micros, Squirrel would also see you successful in this role
