Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Phoenicia InterContinental Beirut is situated along the famous boardwalk, "Corniche" a few minutes from the city's business and banking district, and the ever lively and entertaining city center. The Phoenicia InterContinental, with 446 rooms and suites and 33 apartments, along with 5 F&B outlets and one of the largest banquet facilities in Lebanon is looking to recruit a Learning & Development Manager

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Cluster Director of Human Resources or his/her delegate, the Learning and Development Manager is responsible for managing the Phoenicia and Le Vendôme training functions, including developing a complement of qualified departmental trainers, and establishes a system for generating training data and evaluating results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes the training needs of the Hotels (Phoenicia and Le Vendôme) in general and individual departments, and develops strategies addressing those needs, presenting them in the form of a Training Business Plan to the General Manager, Hotel Manager and Executive Committee for review.

- Ensures effective training programs are in place for the following:
· Train the Trainer
· Leadership Modules
· Customer Service Training
· Management Develp[ment
· Supervisory Skills Training
· Technical job specific training (with certification of departmental standards and procedures)
· Selling Skills
· Employee retraining
· New Employee Orientation
· Fire, Life and Safety Training

- Prepares and monitors training programs for:
· Management Trainees
· Hotels School Trainees
- Monitors the progress of the Training Business Plan for each department to ensure that the training objectives are being achieved.
- Maintains Hotel training records.
- Establishes a training library of books, videos, journals and audio visual materials to assist trainers in their training programs and for colleagues' personal development.
- Designs, produces and implements training programs which meet specific departmental needs in conjunction with Department Heads, ensuring that training session plans are structured and that training is effective
- Attends departmental training session and provided constructive feedback on performance
- Uses IHG benchmarks to monitor success of training programs
- Produces monthly training reports for the Cluster Director Human Resources and the Hotel Manager
- Maintains current information and records of suppliers of training resources and materials
- Provides input for probation and formal performance appraisal discussions to Line Managers in line with IHG guidelines
- Coaches and counsels colleagues, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
- Ensures all colleagues abide by the Hotel Grooming Standards
- Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.<br><br> Education:
Bachelor's Degree in General Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources Management or a Degree in Hospitality Management

Skills:
Fluent in Arabic and English, French is a plus
Microsoft Office Tools
Certified Train the Trainer

Experience:
4 to 5 years in Learning and Development
