Director of Restaurants

The Tremont House, a 119 room historic hotel nestled in the historic Strand district of Galveston, is currently looking for a Director of Restaurants. The hotel features over 16,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 8,000 square foot Davidson Ballroom. The hotel also features the Toujouse Lobby Bar, located in the hotel's four story atrium, The Rooftop Bar, and the Tremont Café.

The scope of responsibility for this position includes: The Tremont Cafe, The Toujouse Bar; Room Service; and the Roof Top Bar. The Director of Restaurants will coordinate, supervise and direct all aspects of the F&B outlets' operations, including, but not limited to, Guest Service; grooming standards; scheduling; staffing; time and attendance; cash handling; POS - MICROS; and Big 4 and Beverage inventories, while maintaining profitable F&B outlets and high quality products and service levels. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high. He/she will also provide input on wine lists, product pricing, all menus, and uniforms. This position reports to the Complex Director of Food and Beverage, and has direct reports of an Outlet Manager and a supervisor. Applicants must be willing to work all shifts, all days, and all holidays.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Required:


- At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 2-year college degree and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Experience in MICROS and Kronos helpful.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must have knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
- Four diamond hospitality experience highly desirable.
