The Director of Consumer and Merchandising will focused on the analysis and insights of the customer experience throughout Wyndham Vacation Rentals North America (WVRNA). This position will provide independent and objective analysis on customer behaviors and preferences to improve engagement and financial results. Through market research, analysis, and revenue results, this position will turn customer data and analysis into actionable insights that can be leveraged across WVRNA. This position will work in concert with business unit leaders to improve data-driven decision-making and embed customer voice and behaviors into revenue generating processes.

This position will master and leverage consumer insight and will identify and implement key analytics projects to promote growth. The Director of Consumer and Merchandising will balance multiple analytics efforts and will leverage Analytics, Revenue Management and Marketing teams to deliver insights and innovative methods of solving problems. Key to the role is the desire and ability to understand and quantify process flows that impact customer data collection and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions

- Deliver actionable insights based on primary and secondary customer research and analysis (e.g., segmentation, customer and market trend analysis, customer behavior studies, etc.).
- Manage and enforce quality control processes related to setting up local and national promotions and merchandising efforts and share learnings and best practices across WVRNA.
- Meet regularly with Revenue Generating (RGT) and Marketing teams to understand their needs, support performance improvement, drive revenue and ensure planning and communication.
- Use statistical analysis and reporting to evaluate performance of campaigns, track return on investment, channel results and customer loyalty.
- Define which data will be needed to measure customer engagement and product performance and work with e-commerce, IT and marketing teams to manage data integration between on and offline systems.
- Build an analytical environment to perform data extraction and management reporting and to provide internal support to customer database users.
- Interpret industry and historic customer data and trends to provide insight into both current and future initiatives.
- Serve as the corporate expert on voice of customer and market research best practices and take a leadership role in driving revenue through customer insights.
- Oversee strategic customer research projects, vendor relationships and coordinate efforts with Wyndham Revenue Management and Analytics teams.


Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or relevant field of work.
- 5+ years of progressive work-related experience; MBA/Masters a plus.
- Prior Revenue Management or Customer Research experience.
- Analytical and detail oriented with a track record of fact based decision making.
- Highly proficiency in Microsoft Excel; programming within SAS or SQL a plus.
- Adept at successfully navigating and managing change; communicates change effectively and monitors transition and results.
- Excellent communicator, motivated and focused on the positive results.
- Ability to lead projects to completion.
