Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel EMEA, the incoming Legal Counsel will be joining a small, lively and ambitious team advising on legal matters affecting the businesses and brands operated by RCI, DAE and Love Home Swap in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The role holder will be required to develop a good understanding of the relevant laws and regulations and the commercial and risk issues facing the businesses.

- Provide commercially focused and accurate legal advice to RCI, DAE, and Love Home Swap in line with each brand's strategic and commercial aims as well as general industry trends.
- Advising all business units on a broad variety of commercial work including commercial contracts, consumer law, regulatory, corporate / M&A , outsourcings, commercial property, intellectual property, IT, data protection, compliance;
- Maintaining and regularly updating standard contracts and T&C's, including website terms and business to business contracts.
- Advising on marketing matters, competitions and sales promotions.
- Training internal legal and business teams on legal and compliance issues;
- Assessing and mitigating risks related to legal issues.
- Assisting Senior Legal Counsel with government relations function; responding to government consultations, building relationships with relevant trade bodies, alerting business to key future legal issues.
- Supporting Senior Legal Counsel on M&A transactions and other general corporate activity, including JVs, re-organisations, finance and internal governance (approvals).
- Working with other team members on corporate and company secretarial aspects, including conducting group restructures, liquidations, companies house filings, etc.
- Liaising with external counsel on a project by project basis (where required)

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIRED Solicitor with at least 2 years PQE preferably gained in either the corporate/commercial department of a reputable law firm or in-house team. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Essential
- Pragmatic and results focused
- Good knowledge of contract and company law
- Ability to work efficiently in a small team
- Excellent drafting and legal research skills Advantageous
- Knowledge/ experience of the leisure and hospitality sector
- M&A experience
- Experience with company secretarial matters.
