The Principal Manchester are looking for an Assistant Conference & Events Manager to join their sales team.

What is the main purpose of the role?
As our Assistant Conference and Events Manager, your role will be to support the Conference & Events Manager to coordinate and maximise conference and event enquires.
This role will require you to work to tight deadlines, as well as exceptional sales and negotiation skills
  Duties of a Assistant Conference & Events Manager include:

• Handling new incoming conference and event enquires in a timely and detailed manner whilst supporting the team with daily responsibilities
• Attending management meetings where applicable within the business in the absence of the departmental manager
• Driving revenue on a daily basis within the team by tracking Delphi activities, conversion levels, enquiry response times and key strategy decisions
• Organising and implementing monthly revenue conversion days
• General management of the events sales team regarding productivity and professionalism alongside the departmental manager
• Attend weekly revenue meetings providing informative reports on new enquiries, top 10 bookings per month, lost and refused business, activity levels
• Ensure that IHG data input standards are adhered to and assist with coaching the team where required
• Complete informative and regular competitor analysis across all sectors of the meeting and events business
• Keep a rolling count of individual quarterly incentive and support M&E Mgr with the motivating team to achieve their individual goals
• Utilising key negotiation skills with a view to securing the business within the hotel
• Providing professional and informative show rounds that are tailored to the clients' specific enquiry
What we need from you

• Previous Conference and Event Coordinator experience
• Be highly motivated and have a positive outlook
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Have previous experience with conference and event revenue strategies
• Be an all-round team player
• Highly organised individual with a meticulous eye for detail
• Thrive working u8nder pressure and to tight deadlines
• Have previous experience with Delphi/opera booking systems
