Your day to day
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Prepares drinks quickly, accurately, and without waste. • Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks. • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive displays. • Prepares for service by ensuring:o Grooming is impeccable and in accordance with IHG standards o Outlet equipment is cleano Equipment is sorted and storedo Glassware is polished o Requirements for special occasions are readyo Outlet is ready for service and guest comforto Daily beverage specials are explained and up-soldo Beverage orders are taken quicklyo Payment methods are handled accurately o Working areas are cleaned and re-set quicklyo Bar is cleano Used ashtrays are regularly cleanedo Guests are conversed with in relation to the beverage productso Beverages are up-sold and regularly replenished, abiding by responsible alcohol service regulations Ensuring that:o Guests are advised on alcoholic beverageso Compliance with legal provisions of local liquor codeso Level of intoxication of guests is assessed and appropriate action takeno Advises guests on the Hotel's policy of smokingo Monitors factors which interfere with the total experience of the guests• Checks the identification of customers seated at the bar to ensure that they meet the minimum drinking age.• Stocks the bar by bringing liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom.• Communicates to his supervisor any difficulties, guest comments and other relevant information. • Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.• Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled.• Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
