Job Synopsis:

Provide Guest Services and in-house service as well as supervision, direction and leadership in the Housekeeping Department with the objectives, performance and quality standards as published by Two Seasons Hotel

General Tasks and Responsibilities:

General Duties

• To be responsible for the supervision and coordination of the housekeeping attendants by ensuring that services are available and carried out with the utmost efficiency.
• To study and evaluate the operation of the Housekeeping Department, and suggest improvements to the Executive Housekeeper.
• To assign duties and responsibilities to subordinates.
• To check the store rooms, service rooms and areas to ensure the smooth flow of the Guest supplies.
• To interact with individuals outside the hotel, such as suppliers, contractors, labour relations representations and competitors, source alternative more cost effective suppliers and advise Executive Housekeeper accordingly.
• To maintain a record of all “rota” cleaning work i.e. window cleaning, carpet shampooing, drapery cleaning, and deep cleanings.
• To follow-up on all maintenance requests to ensure timely completion.
• To ensure correct distribution and control of master keys.
• To check the pantry and service rooms and areas to ensure the smooth flow of the Guest supplies and linen.
• To take note of arriving VIP’s and ensure rooms meet the Two Seasons Standards for cleanliness, maintenance and amenity set up..
• To ensure that all equipment is well maintained and handled correctly.
• To ensure that all staff are correctly trained in machinery handling.
• To handle guest complaints in accordance with the hotel policy, reporting all complaints to the Executive Housekeeper.
• To check the Logbooks and follow up on outstanding matters.
• To assist in taking various inventories.
• To ensure that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and nametag at all times.
• To assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
• To ensure that all employees provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
• To assist in the training of the employees ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform duties with the maximum efficiency.
• To supervise the employees within the department ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained.
• To ensure that all activities are adhered to and support the Two Seasons Quality Management System.
• To assist the Assistant Executive House Housekeeper in taking responsibility for the department and colleagues in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• To liaise and co-operate with other departments to ensure requirements and standards are achieved.
• To ensure that clear Standard Operating Procedures are developed, communicated, updated and implemented.
• To support and implement decisions of upper management.
• To ensure flowers and plants in guest rooms and passages are fresh, clean and well maintained.

Administrational
• To assist the Executive Housekeeper in the administration work concerning the department.
• Handles the administrative work for the Housekeeping Department and provides accounting with an up-to-date report with regards to cost occurred by other departments.
• To ensure accurate and thorough training records are maintained for all employees.
• To ensure that key check is done at the end of the shift according to policy established.
• To ensure that colleagues have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel rules and regulations.
• To assist in administrative aspects of the department ensuring that necessary clear and concise records are maintained.
• To conduct colleagues' evaluations to review their general performance and discuss existing performance and areas of improvements.
• To keep both the Assistant Executive Housekeeper and the Executive Housekeeper updated on any colleagues performance requiring improvement or further development.
• Tracks performances of individuals and initiates personal development accordingly.
• To monitor and maintaining positive feedback by consistently providing quality service to our guests.
• To achieve work objectives through effective delegation.
• Together with department trainers, all colleagues to be trained to the required standards as established by the hotel.
• To ensure that key check is done at the end of the shift according to policy established.
• To maintain records of Planned Preventative Maintenance cleaning work
• To ensure that colleagues have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel rules and regulations.
• To assist in administrative aspects of the department ensuring that necessary clear and concise records are maintained.
