About us
The role involves allocated responsibilities for management, direction and provision of tax advisory and compliance work within the IHG Group in relation to the following areas:
 

• a) Business advisory and support work;
• b) Tax management and planning;
• c) Tax reporting and forecasting;
• d) Tax compliance (including management of tax audits and disputes); and
• e) Regulatory compliance relating to tax.  
The primary initial responsibilities of the current role will be in the areas of business advisory and support work, specialist tax compliance matters conducted in house  (in particular management of transfer pricing requirements) and regulatory compliance relating to tax. It may also involve assisting in providing business support advice in related areas such as indirect tax compliance or treasury as necessary to help meet business needs in a rapidly changing environment.
 
Rotation of responsibilities into other listed areas may be expected in future in order to assist the development of the individual and of other team members, or as opportunities and needs arise.
 
The individual will be expected to have the capability of future development to achieve a range and mix of competencies at aggregate levels appropriate for a Director, within the Department's banding and competency assessment system..

Your day to day
  Business advisory and support

• To assist Tax Director, AMEA in providing expert tax advice to the Business in the Asia Middle East and Africa ("AMEA") region (with primary responsibilities over the Asia Australasia ("AA") region) with respect to both operations and major transactions including the following:
• Providing advice and coordination/support to hotel controllers to help them ensure full compliance of local requirement for the maintenance of tax registration and payment of taxes for IHG fee income, including withholding tax and business tax ( or VAT where applicable).
• Advising Business/Group Tax on tax law developments in countries for the AMEA region that may affect IHG current investment and contract structure.
• Assisting in providing advice to the Business/Group Tax as necessary concerning the structuring and implementation of acquisitions and disposals and ad hoc projects. Transfer Pricing

• To advise Business and Group Tax on the developments in tax laws relating to transfer pricing for countries in the AMEA region (with primary responsibilities over the AA region), and provide assistance as necessary to help evaluate and implement IHG's transfer pricing approaches and policies so as to ensure full compliance of filing requirements. Responsibilities include ensuring maintenance of necessary documentation and preparation of the transfer pricing reports and detailed functional analyses to manage transfer pricing risks on all cross border transactions of IHG entities in that region. Tax Reporting and Tax Compliance

• To assist in the preparation of tax forecast/payment forecast/effective tax rate calculation on a quarterly basis
• To assist in the preparation of year end tax provision and tax reconciliation for the relevant IHG entities
• To provide assistance in managing corporation income tax compliance for group companies in the AMEA (with primary responsibilities over the Asia Australasia region) and to liaise with the external advisors and other internal departments as necessary  SOX compliance

• To ensure compliance of IHG's tax policies as determined by Global tax in the UK are fully complied with for the above jurisdictions, with particular attention on compliance under the Sarbanes Oxley Act and IHG's Audit Committees.
• Awareness of training program and need and ensuring timing completion of tax training program scheduled for each year
What we need from you
Education:

• Bachelor of Accountancy Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in tax related field preferably with a big four accounting firm
• Certified member of SIATP or ICA is preferred Technical Skills and Knowledge:

• Good Team Player
