In Japan, IHGANA Hotels Group was established in December 2006 as a joint venture between IHG and ANA - Japan's leading airline. IHGANA is the leading hotel operator in Japan with 33 hotels operating under four brands: InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, ANA Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and ANA Hotels.
At the moment we're looking for a Learning & Development Manager - Japan to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The role will be based in Tokyo. Reporting into the Manager, Learning & Development, Australasia, Japan & South Pacific Resorts based in Sydney.

Your day to day
This role is responsible for managing the learning, training and development offering for managed and franchised hotels across Japan. This will align with IHG EMEAA learning and development standards and the Australasia and Japan regional business strategy to enable colleagues' development, the acceleration of current and future leader's development and the enhancement of required organisational capabilities and skills development. This role will act as the division's process owner for learning and development policies and all training delivery under the guidance and leadership of the Australasia and Japan Learning and Development COE, tailoring regionally as appropriate to deliver the right type and right level of service.
This role will partner with hotel General Managers, Hotel HRBPs and/or Hotel L&D Leaders to consult on their specific hotel operations and brand learning and development requirements. It will deliver learning and development solutions through the Hotel-Based Learning and Development community and approved third party providers that are cost effective and that deliver appropriate business metrics and development initiatives. The role will also support New Hotels, advising of training requirements, planning new onboarding training and delivering the COE agreed training framework.
Focused on Hotel Learning and Development solutions for Japan, this role supports the sustainability and success of the EMEAA Learning and Development offering. It will also contribute to the wider EMEAA Learning and Development COE through working with other EMEAA Learning and Development leaders and regional peers.

What we need from you
We are seeking someone with:-
A Degree or international equivalent in Learning Development, Human Resources or business related field
5+ years experience in Hotel Operations ideally in a leadership role and at least 3 years in a Learning & Development role at regional or corporate level 
Proven experience of delivering complex projects including Learning and Training within a large multi-national company
Experience in working with different cultures reflecting the diversity of the Japan Business Unit 
Strong consultancy, facilitation and problem solving skills
Able to influence and negotiate with a wide range of senior stakeholder
Fluent in both English and Japanese
