GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Receptionist is responsible to provide professional and excellent hospitality service to the guests ensuring that their stay with Occidental Al Jaddaf will become a memorable experience.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fully knowledgeable of the OPERA System including all operational and reporting functions
• Provide prompt, professional and efficient service to all guests from arrival until departure
• Ensure all rooms for arrival are vacant, clean and inspected by Housekeeping and allocated according to the reservation
• Understand daily hotel operations and activities (total room occupancy, number of arrivals, departure guests, and VIPs)
• Be fully aware of hotel room categories, room rates, current room status and room availability
• Be knowledgeable on hotel services, operational hours, amenities, functions, and ongoing promotional activities (if applicable). Responds to guest requests for information on local areas of attractions and landmarks
• Manage guest issues in a timely and efficient manner, requesting assistance from the Front Office Management in cases where support is needed
• Accurately administer Front Desk cashiering standards and comply with all department and hotel’s policies and procedures
• Monitors current rate, rate changes, and foreign exchange rate
• Fully responsible for the cash float handed over by Finance Department
• Contributes to the profitability of the hotel by upselling room categories and cross sells outlets within the hotel
• Ensure guest mail and messages are delivered immediately in a professional manner without delay
• Coordinate with other Departments for any special events or VIP guests in the hotel
• Answer and transfer calls properly adhering to the telephone etiquette in line with the hotel standards
• Runs the necessary reports and completes them in line with the hotel standards
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times
• Project a professional manner with an emphasis on delivering excellent hospitality service
