Your day to day
• Conduct shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known• Supervise cashiering activities during shift including: • Cash handling and banking procedure • Dealing with irregular payments • Instructing staff in credit policies and facilities • Instructing staff in cash security procedures • Following up with other departments on pending PMs • Carry out debtor control/ High Balance• Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers• Ensure Lobby host is always present providing assistance and information to guests• Inspect all VIP rooms prior to arrival• Promote Priority Club and the staff incentive related to the number of enrollments• Review arrival lists for all arrivals and VIPs to check room allocations, amenities, and special requests• Endorse the 'Personal Hotelier' program and play a key role in the effectiveness of its implementation• Ensure that Priority Club members consistently receive all benefits, repeat guests and other VIP's receive special recognition and service• Monitor that all guests are escorted to their rooms on arrivalHealth, Safety and Security• Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety• Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures• Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Line ManagerSupervising People:• Ensure a good communication with all members of the F/O team is in place in order to ensure maximum guest satisfaction through personal recognition and prompt attention from arrival through departure• Work with the Line Manager to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive• Participate in staff recruitmentOperational Knowledge:• Gain understanding of the departmental goals and support your Line Manager to achieve these targets• Enforce cost saving measures where appropriate• Maintain in depth knowledge of departmental standards and proceduresGeneral:• Comply with the Company's Corporate Code of Conduct• Familiarize yourself with the company values and model desired behaviors• Perform tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals• Prepare requisition forms for the section on a monthly basis
