The hotel's Palm Beach Club offers two floodlit tennis courts, a 25-metre olympic size pool, a leisure pool, a fully equipped fitness center, sauna, jacuzzi and easy access to the beach. Local sites of interest include the Grand Mosque, Opera House and Amouage Perfume Factory.
Your day to day
The SalesManager will be responsible for managing an account portfolio with the aim togenerate and maximise hotel revenue and market share. Key to this role isbuilding relationships and developing networks within the accounts portfolio inorder to increase revenue and conversion. Where applicable, this role will alsoinvolve the management and coaching of a team of Sales Executives and SalesCoordinators. • Validate of the potential of assigned accounts and create account plans as per the IHG hotels standard operating procedures• Develop the assigned account portfolio to meet set goals and maximise profitability• Gather information on current and prospective clients / contacts to generate incremental business• Maintain effective control of sales expenses• Use both account interaction and publicly available tools to monitor competitors' activities as it relates to both the hotel and the portfolio of accounts and share relevant information with key stakeholders in line with hotel procedures• Provide feedback to management on changing market conditions, including competition and market trends• Involve Ass Director of Sales and or DOSM where appropriate on sales calls and sales meetings• Communicate to his/her superior any issues encountered and other relevant information• Attend and participate in and where appropriate, organise training sessions, daily briefings and other meetings as required• Where applicable, supervise, manage and train Business Development Executives and Business Development Coordinators in carrying out their responsibilities• Ensure accurate and timely updating of an accurate record of all relevant activities in the provided Sales System (i.e. Delphi; Opera; etc.) for future reference and control purposes• Update Account and Contact profiles, attach Account plans, ensure 'live' information for action• Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
What we need from you
The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality, leadership and working in a large complex hotel with multiple revenue streams. You will have demonstrated capability in influencing and impacting business strategy and also have strong financial, analytical and business acumen partnered with and understanding of industry dynamics and trends. You will be a change agent with the ability to work alongside a team and collaborate with key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Strategic thinking and the ability to explore new ways of working and be open minded on how we can drive the Resort forward will be highly advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work with guests and champion a brand is also a must.
