We currently have a rare opportunity for a Utilities and Infrastructure Manager to join the team on island for this exciting journey!

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll efficiently manage the day to day operation of the resorts entire utilities infrastructure and electrical plant and equipment. In our unique location, this will include the operation of the Resort, our Colleague Village and the Hayman Estates. In addition, the responsibility to drive all aspects of the resorts computerized Preventative Maintenance Program so that unscheduled down time is eliminated and minimal disruptions for guests and team members occur. Working to tight deadlines, it's a fast-paced role that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that brand standards are met and any federal, state, and/or local regulatory requirements are maintained.
 
You'll also play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and upskilling your immediate Utilities Team and the wider Engineering department to ensure they are highly engaged. With a strong team to support, the day to day of this role will include;

•Providing a roster/work routine to organise and coordinate the work of all Contractors, Consultants and Engineering colleagues to meet the requirements of Engineering departments day to day maintenance of the resort.
•Preparing and initiating purchase requests for spare and replacement parts needed for repairs, maintenance related tasks and refurbishing projects and upgrades.
•Managing the seamless operation of the Reverse Osmosis plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, Powerhouse / HV/LV network and oversee the Electricians as their Electrical Supervisor.
•Record keeping an department compliance with legislative controls for Contract work procurement, Work Place Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety both Federal and State.
•Trouble shooting problems, planning and implement solutions in a quality system approach and managing productivity and the manning budget.
What we need from you
To be successful in this role you will need to have 2-3 year experience in a similar role within a hotel or resort environment, preferably in a large complex property or large dynamic operation. Proven ability to manage multiple and varying projects is essential and having done so in a resort environment will be a plus. You will have the ability to work alongside a team and collaborate with key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and an open mind around how we can drive the Resort forward and deliver unrivalled guest journeys will be highly advantageous.
Flexibility to work a varied roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays in order to support the operation alongside holding Australian work rights is also a must and you will need to hold formal qualifications and licenses around electrical and high voltage works alongside water chemistry.
