JOB SUMMARY
As a Hotel Catering Sales Manager, you will lead all daily sales-related functions regarding Marriott's catering services with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships. This will include accountability for proactively soliciting and handling sales opportunities and ensuring that all business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery.
Your specific duties in this role will include:
• Contacting the appropriate individual or department (e.g., Sales, Data Administration, Accounting) as necessary to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems
• Using sales techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott, including up-selling
• Presenting complimentaries to guests as gifts for their patronage (e.g., rewards points, show tickets, gift certificates)
• Promoting awareness of brand image both internally and externally
• Processing requests for redeeming Marriott Rewards points
• Processing all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail
• Entering Marriott Rewards information into appropriate software when taking guest reservations
• Answering, recording, and processing all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns
• Performing general office duties to support Sales & Marketing (e.g., filing, sending emails, typing, faxing)
• Assisting management in training and motivating employees while serving as a role model
JOB REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for a self-motivated Hotel Catering Sales Manager with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations. It is also important that you have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as the ability to establish rapport with both new and existing clients.
Specific qualifications for the role include:
• Associate's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; Bachelor's degree, a plus
• 3 years' experience (1 year with a Bachelor's degree) in sales and marketing or a related professional area
• Solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills
• Proven lead-generation and closing skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
