JOB SUMMARY

The Hotel Accountant will be required to manage the daily accounting function ensuring timely and accurate input for the reporting timetables.

Plus, conduct their duties in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the hotel's policies and procedures, ensuring that a high level of service is maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Attend to the daily administration of the accounting office and identify and resolve problems in conjunction with respective members of staff.
• Prepare month end journals and post into general ledger for approval by CDOF.
• Review monthly stocktake results and food and beverage cost of sales reports for accuracy and import journals into general ledger. Investigate any irregular items arising from the stocktake.
• Maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and end of month reports for the hotel, to meet reporting timetable.
• Completion and timely submission of monthly reporting requirements to Starwood.
• Perform month end close and prepare month end management reports in line with Starwood/Owners timetable for review by the CDOF.
• Prepare and send required end of month reports to Department heads via central network directory.
• Liaise with operational department heads in relation to financial matters concerning their department
• Prepare quarterly KPI management report and quarterly fixed asset depreciation schedule for Owners.
• Ensure all general ledger reconciliations are performed monthly with appropriate supporting documentation and ensure reconciling items are appropriately resolved on a timely basis, for review of CDOF.
• Prepare monthly reforecasts for review by CDOF to be sent to Department heads in the following month. Co-ordinate input from department heads in preparation of these forecasts.
• Assist in annual budgeting process as directed by CDOF.
• Assist in preparation of FBT return, payroll tax and statistical requirements as directed by CDOF
• In conjunction with CDOF, facilitate internal and external audits as required.
• Review and lodge monthly GST, Payroll tax returns and withholding tax payments.
