American Fitness Figure Champion to host charity boot camp at Inspire Sports in support of Terry Fox Foundation
100% of the proceeds to fund innovative cancer research in Al Ain
Abu Dhabi, February 12 2012: To support world-class local cancer research, Inspire Sports Management has teamed up with American Fitness Figure Champion, Rachel Omolewu, to host a special ‘Fit for Life’ boot camp on Saturday, 18th February 2012, at 5pm. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation to help fund cancer research projects being undertaken at the UAE University in Al Ain.
Fitness and nutrition expert, Rachel Omolewu, will lead the 90 minute high-energy, fat blasting workout, incorporating muscle toning, aerobic drills, and flexibility exercises. Ladies will have fun while shaping up as this lively class will consist of body sculpting and aerobic interval conditioning. The final portion is a cool down series of the same stretching yoga-pilates nature used by celebrities like Madonna to maintain their incredibly sculpted physique. This bootcamp is set to invigorate muscles, while performing various Pilates and yoga poses enables the energy to ultimately be brought to a soothing relaxation. The bootcamp will be followed by a lively question and answer session where women will find out how to stay ‘Fit for Life’.
“Exercise is just one part of the equation,” states Rachel Omolewu. “Diet, nutrition, mental health and motivation are equally important”. Topics of the session will range from tips on nutrition and how to stay motivated to tips and how to maintain a healthy diet and workout routine with a busy lifestyle. Those questions irking every woman - like how celebrities like Madonna are able to sustain their physique and fiery, dynamic personas while remaining energized to perform - will be answered. Participants will leave the class equipped with the knowledge be ‘Fit for Life’ and ready to be fierce when they strike their Vogue pose!
Rachel is a National Level NPC Figure Athlete from the USA. She has taught fitness and wellness to people of all ages for over ten years and studied Physiology in addition to her Masters degree in Biochemistry, with a focus on nutritional metabolism. A top competitor in the NPC, she has won several First place Figure Overall Championships, all by unanimous decision. A lifelong athlete herself, Rachel has a passion for fitness and health, and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others, enabling them to reach their goals and optimal fitness levels.

To date, the total number of projects funded by Terry Fox Runs in the UAE has reached an impressive 42 projects, at an overall value of close to AED10.1 million. The research, which is evaluated in Switzerland and Canada, is undertaken by UAE-based researchers and scientists and is focused on the needs of citizens and residents of the UAE.
The Terry Fox Run Abu Dhabi is set to take place on the Abu Dhabi Corniche on February 17 2012. The Run, now in its 17th year in the Capital, is held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE.
People can walk, run, roller-blade or skateboard, and the course is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers; however, cycling will not be permitted due to safety precautions. Registration begins at 7 am and the Run itself will start at 10am. Cash and cheque donations are gratefully accepted on the event day. T-shirts will be on sale on the Run day itself.
