Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa welcomes legendary cricket players
An Evening over Cocktails with Cricket Legends
Dubai, UAE (September 19 2012): Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa hosted a cocktail evening to welcome famous cricket celebrities like Danny Morrison, Tony Greig and Robin Jackman who were in Dubai for Pakistan & Australia tour of United Arab Emirates 2012.
Danny Morrison is known as New Zealand Fast Bowler. He specialized as a pace bowler with a useful out swinger. He made his test debut for New Zealand in 1987 at the age of 21 against Australia. His most notable bowling accomplishment occurred on 25 March 1994, when he took a hat-trick in a ODI against India. During the final stride of the delivery his bowling arm used to displace air behind the umpire in such a manner that it would make an umpire’s shirt flutter.
Anthony William Greig (Tony Greig) is England’s Batsman from 1972 to 1977, a former English Test cricketer turned commentator. Born in Queenstown, South Africa, Greig qualified to play for England by virtue of his Scottish parentage. All-rounder bowled both medium pace and off spin, he became captain of his national side from 1975 to 1977. A leading all-rounder in the County game, Greig is thought by some former players and pundits to be one of England's leading international all-rounders.
Robin Jackman is England’s Fast Bowler from 1974 to 1983. He played in four Tests and fifteen ODIs for England from 1974 to 1983. He was a seam bowler and useful tail-end batsman. During a first-class career lasting from 1966 to 1982, he took 1,402 wickets. He was a member of the Surrey side that won the County Championship in 1971, and also played for Western in South Africa in 1971-72, and for Rhodesia between 1972–73 and 1979-80.
Although retired they are still active in the sports world by working as commentators on various international TV tournaments.
