The Iconic Indian singer visits Kuwait & Qatar as part of her regional tour
May 16, 2011 – Kuwait- Legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle is making a special appearance in Kuwait and Qatar as part of the regional tour for her famed restaurant chain, Asha’s.
Asha Bhosle visited Kuwait on 15 and 16 May, appearing at Asha’s restaurants in Marina Mall, The Avenues Mall and Spoons – Mahboulah, the newest addition to the chain. Continuing her tour, on the 17th May, Asha will visit Villagio Mall in Doha, Qatar. During her visit to the region, Asha Bhosle is hosting various cocktail receptions for VIPs and members of the press.

She is a remarkable lady of many talents, and truly inspires everyone who works with her as part of the Asha’s team”, said Nader Hallal, Head of Marketing for Alshaya’s Food Service division which owns and operates the brand in Kuwait and Qatar. Bhosle’s love for cooking motivated her to open her first restaurant in Dubai in 2002, and she has since added eight additional restaurants to the chain. Today, Asha’s can be found in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the UK.
Asha’s offers a unique dining experience famous for its contemporary Indian cuisine. Ashas signature dishes and ambiance, themed around the famous singer, have long captured the palettes of customers across the Gulf and UK.
Over the years, Bhosle has refined her culinary interests as well as her supreme musical talent. In the same way that her songs have inspired generations, her recipes captured the essence of traditional food. The menu selection includes delicacies from northwest India and Bhosle’s own home specialities. Her visit also marks the pre launch of the “Journey through India” festival which will feature regional dishes from all across India handpicked by her and the chefs.
Asha Bhosle’s journey as a professional musician began in 1944, when at the age of 11 she sang Chala Chala Navabaala for the Marathi film Majha Baal. She completed her golden jubilee in the Indian Film Industry in 1994 with over 13,000 songs to her credit, making her the singer with the most recordings in the world.
In 2010, she was chosen as the Brand Ambassador for the newly instituted Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA), the Indian equivalent of the Grammy Awards, and she was also recently awarded the BBC Lifetime Achievement Award by the former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
