Auris Plaza Hotel Launches All-Inclusive “Chic Cuisine” À La Carte Dining Concept
Eastern Flavours Re-Interpreted with Contemptorary Culinerary Techniques Present Modern Dubai on a Plate
(Dubai, 12 February 2014) Establishing itself as an epicurean centre of excellence and innovation on the Dubai culinary stage, Auris Plaza has launched a new culinary concept at its Zuri restaurant entitled “Chic Cuisine” at Auris Plaza. Unique not only for its innovative combination of flavours, contemporary plating and sizing of each dish, the purely à la carte menu of 15 signature dishes and 5 desserts are presented in an all-inclusive format, allowing guests to choose from the menu as many of each dish as they would like for the one inclusive price.
“Chic Cuisine” at Auris Plaza is the brainchild of Executive Chef De Wet and Chef Abdul Aziz, who along with a culinary team of professionals from seven different nationalities, spent over 3 months creating, improving and evolving the cuisine to its modern contemporary reflection of Dubai that it is today. Says Executive Chef De Wet: “Dubai is a melting pot of cultures, colours and flavours. Launching “Chic Cuisine” at Auris Plaza we wanted to present the urban sophistication of this great city on a plate through the medium that brings everyone together - food. Eastern flavours have been introduce to Western ingredients and techniques to present a fresh dining experience that is stylish, confident and harmonious despite the underlying complexity – just like Dubai itself!”
Each of the 15 signature dishes and 5 desserts are unnamed and presented by their key ingredients only. Additionally an image of each dish is uploaded to an i-Pad menu from which guests order. Of particular note is the Short Ribs*Tamarind*Peanut*Teriyaki*Purple Yam*Jasmine*Sweet Potato dish which takes over 72 hours of slowly cooking the short ribs with a tamarind, peanut, teriyaki glaze, and is served with a purple yam cake infused with jasmine tea, and accompanied by sweet potato chips. Another must-try is the Beef Cheek*Risotto*Green Bean*Garlic which sees beef cheeks braised in a Tom Yam broth and served with a coconut risotto, sautéed green beans and garlic chips.
Says Chef De Wet: “Each dish went through 25 to 30 testings before being added to the menu. We also made the sizing of each dish smaller than a regular main so that guests can try as many of the unique flavour combinations as possible. It was also extremely important for us to keep the all-inclusive menu à la carte, to ensure the integrity of each dish served.”
Zuri restaurant’s “Chic Cuisine” at Auris Plaza dining experience costs AED 225 per person (inclusive of service charge and municipality fees) and is all-inclusive of all food dishes, mocktails, teas and water.
