Barista Competition Held in Ajman
Kempinski Hotel Ajman hosted the very first barista competition ever held in the smallest of the Emirates
Ajman, October 8, 2015 – The competition to award the best barista took place on 8 October at Kempinski Hotel Ajman. It is the only event of its kind that’s been held in Ajman so far, which tested eight talented competitors from all of the five-star hotels in Ajman in the creation of original coffee-based drinks.
On the first day, all eight competitors had to show their skills in brewing the perfect espresso, cappuccino and presenting their own signature coffee-based beverage.
At the end of the first day, only four talented baristas were chosen for the final day to impress the judges with their skills. At the end of the competition, Dinh Thuy Linh from Kempinski Hotel Ajman was voted as the winner.
“Such an event was organised as an initiative. By inviting neighbouring five-star hotels to participate and compete, we wanted to create awareness about our talented baristas. We are now looking forward to sending Dinh to participate in the UAE Barista Championship, held in November in Dubai, and we’re certainly planning on hosting more similar events,” concluded Jerome Kamuhangire, the beverage manager at Kempinski Hotel Ajman.
