BECOME A GOURMET INSIDER WITH MIELE AT TASTE OF DUBAI
Miele teams up with top celebrity chefs at this year’s Taste of Dubai, for an exclusive cookery master class series that pairs aspiring gastronomes with culinary heavyweights
Miele, one of the world’s leading producers of premium home appliances, is giving amateur chefs, foodies, and those looking to develop their culinary repertoire, the opportunity to pick up expert tips from some of the world’s - and local - celebrity gastronomes during this year’s Taste of Dubai, which will be held at Dubai Media City from 15-17 March 2012.
A total of 28 sessions featuring 18 renowned names from the culinary world are lined up as part of the Miele Cookery School master class series, during which Taste of Dubai visitors get to team up with a celebrity chef for an intense, interactive and fun 40-minute up-close-and-personal cooking lesson.
Some of the world’s top chefs will be taking party, including television star and Michelin-starred Italian restaurateur Giorgio Locatelli; legendary proponent of modern Mexican cuisine and Toro Toro owner, Richard Sandoval; Atul Kochhar, the first UK-based Indian chef to receive a Michelin star; contemporary Arabic food exponent and author Suzanne Husseini; and Food Network’s television personality Aaarti Sequeira, as well as chefs from renowned restaurants and hotels in Dubai such as the Armani Hotel, Atlantis and Rhodes Twenty10, to name a few.
“This is a rare opportunity for passionate amateur cooks to learn the culinary secrets of some of the world’s most successful and entrepreneurial restaurateurs,” said Gaby Koudsi, managing director for Miele in the GCC.
“Our specially designed cookery school is designed to recreate the atmosphere of a real, fully-live working kitchen. Add a high profile celebrity chef to the mix and our enthusiastic amateurs will enjoy a memorable cooking experience as they reproduce a classic dish from the repertoire of their culinary hero,” he added.
With just 24 complimentary places on offer for each master class, registration is on a first-come first-served basis with visitors asked to sign up 30 minutes before the start of each session.
“The Taste of Dubai master classes provide a perfect taster for the Miele Gallery experience where the set-up and activities on display at this year’s event can be replicated for a range of functions from product launches to private events.
“Our Sheikh Zayed Road gallery, located in Sama Tower, has been specifically designed to showcase the full range of Miele appliances. Our state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen is already proving to be a popular location, and with many initiatives in the pipeline we are looking forward to showcasing our capacity to work in tandem with the creative energies this region offers” said Koudsi.
Taste of Dubai will be held from 15-17 March at Dubai Media City. For more information, go to www.tasteofdubaifestival.com/features/cookery-school.

Miele is world leader in the production of premium domestic appliances including cooking, baking and steam-cooking appliances, refrigeration products, coffee makers, dishwashers and laundry and floorcare products. This line-up is augmented by washer-disinfectors for use in medical and laboratory applications (Miele Professional). The company, founded in 1899, has eight production plants in Germany. The company has its headquarters in Gütersloh, Westphalia.
Miele launched its new multi-purpose gallery on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road in September 2011. The gallery is located on the ground floor of the Sama Tower, and is spread over two floors including an outside terrace. The new space is designed to showcase more than 80 appliances on the lower floor, and its mezzanine level is perfectly furnished to host a variety of events such as product launches, training sessions as well as live cooking lessons. Visitors can also view Miele’s luxury product range, starting with the revolutionary home control system from Miele@Home, through to cooking, cooling, laundry and floor care appliances. Sustainability is at heart of all Miele design and therefore naturally the gallery comes complete with a ‘green’ lounge where clients can relax with coffee and other refreshments. Also on display is a product history museum consisting of some of the companies early innovations which takes the visitors on a journey from the birth of Miele 112 years ago.
