Best of Best Recognised at Middle East Hotel Awards 2012
Prestigious awards set to become “Oscars” of the Hospitality Industry
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 16th May 2012: Winners of the first Middle East Hotel Awards went down in industry history when they were crowned at a glittering award ceremony held at the Mina Al Salam Royal Majlis,Dubai on Tuesday evening, on the opening day of The Hotel Show.
The awards are the first in the region to recognise excellence in the hospitality industry from concept design to supplies, with a total of eight categories highlighting the diverse elements that contribute to the perfect hotel stay. These include: best lobby, reception & guest lounges; best restaurant/best F&B outlets; best convention, conference and or banquet facility; best hotel suite; best fitness & leisure facilities; best outdoor area; best technology integration; and best sustainable initiative.
A much anticipated event at this year’s Hotel Show, which is currently running until the 17th May 2012 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Middle East Hotel Awards attracted entries from most Middle East markets and were judged by an independent panel of industry experts including Majid Sager Al-Marri, Steven Charlton, Karim Benkirane, Ramakrishna Bhadhya and Meelis Kuuskler.
The inaugural event attracted over 58 entries and winners of the 2012 Middle East Hotel Awards are:
· Best lobby, reception & guest lounge: Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort, Fujairah
· Best Restaurant or Best F&B Outlets: On the Edge Restaurant - Six Senses Zighy Bay, Oman
· Best Convention, Conference and or Banquet Facilities: Grand Hyatt, Dubai
· Best Hotel Suite: Six Senses Resort Zighy Bay, Oman
· Best Fitness & Leisure Facilities: The Address Dubai Mall
· Sustainable Initiative: Six Senses Resort Zighy Bay, Oman
· Best Technology Integration: Aloft, Abu Dhabi
· Best Outdoor Area: The Address Dubai Marina

The Hotel Show runs until 17th May 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Entry is free for industry professionals with registration conducted on-site.
