BANGKOK, THAILAND (FEBRUARY 03, 2016) – Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, paid tribute to the top-performing hotel teams and individuals from across the region at the Asia Pacific Business Conference 2016 Awards Dinner. Held in conjunction with the Carlson Rezidor Asia Pacific Business Conference 2016 at Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok, the event was attended by over 200 delegates, including senior Carlson Rezidor executives from Asia Pacific and the global offices.
Celebrating the best of 2015 as Carlson Rezidor honors award winners at Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok

The award winners include:
Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok won the Hotel of the Year Award, having achieved substantial increases in occupancy and profitability. The hotel closed an excellent year well ahead of budget in a highly competitive market. Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok is consistently lauded by guests for delivering great value and has also amassed various industry awards that recognize its services and strong Food & Beverage offerings. Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok not only ranks amongst the top 10% in its market on TripAdvisor, it is also the first Carlson Rezidor hotel in Asia Pacific to be certified under the globally recognized Safehotels Alliance AB.
The New Hotel of the Year award was presented to Radisson Blu Hotel Chittagong Bay View, which has successfully driven occupancy rates and guest satisfaction to become the leading hotel in its market, within months of opening. Radisson Blu Hotel Chittagong Bay View was inaugurated in 2015 by the Bangladeshi Prime Minister in a grand ceremony that was attended by more than 1,000 distinguished guests, including several high-level government representatives, foreign dignitaries and top business leaders. The flagship hotel has since had the honor of hosting the Bangladeshi President and seven ambassadors as well.
The Responsible Business Hotel of the Year award was won by Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island. With one of the largest roof-mounted solar power systems on the Pacific Islands, Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island harnesses solar power to provide 20% of the energy that the hotel requires. The hotel is also actively involved in its community, connecting with 28 schools though an Adopt-a-School program. Supporting the community pillar in Responsible Business, the hotel team led the establishment of 11 school libraries, equipped them with computers, and donated books. The team has also contributed to blood drives and donation drives, as well as supported vocational schools by donating kitchen equipment, providing training and internship opportunities.
The General Manager of the Year award was won by Rajneesh Malhotra of Radisson Blu Plaza Hyderabad Banjara Hills, who led his team to achieve exceptional financial results. With support from his executive committee, he fostered a strong, positive culture built on respect and shared goals. This helped the team achieve outstanding gains in occupancy, revenue and guest satisfaction. In addition, Rajneesh keeps his team engaged and encourages them to give back to the community. A firm believer in leading by example, he upholds the values of Responsible Business and has hired staff members who are differently abled, including a survivor of human trafficking.
Isha Sehgal, assistant manager, Legal, South Asia, is this year’s winner of the Order of the Golden Rose award, which recognizes outstanding individuals from the corporate regional support teams who demonstrate leadership, deliver top performance, embody the values of the Carlson credo and are role models to their peers.
