Culture and music unites Ras Al Khaimah and Germany
German Spring Festival showcases German culture
(Ras Al Khaimah, UAE - 25 March 2014): The German Spring Festival returned to Ras Al Khaimah last week as part of the emirate’s efforts to bring the Ras Al Khaimah and German communities closer. The festival showcased traditional German music and culture, as well as local and German companies.
Organised by the Ras Al Khaimah Chapter of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) in a tent in the garden of the Hilton Hotel Ras Al Khaimah, the festival brought together around 300 people to celebrate in German style, with German food and traditional live music performances by German bands Lollypop and Die Aulendorfer.
Speaking on the event, Steven Rice, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah TDA, said: “Historically, Germany is one of Ras Al Khaimah’s top three source markets, accounting for more than 20% of the visitors to the emirate.”
“We deeply value the German community’s contribution to our emirate and we are very proud to be supporting events like this, which reinforce the close relationship between Ras Al Khaimah and Germany.”
The German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) is a German semi-governmental organisation which promotes and supports trade relations between Germany and the UAE, and in particular supports German companies in building and extending their businesses in the Gulf region.

Sponsors of the event included: Stevin Rock LLC, Quarry & Mining LLC, Knauf RAK FZE, RAK German Engineering FZC, Eskate Middle East FZC, InvetiQ FZ-LLC and Namo Villa.
