DUBAILAND Set to Increase Tourist Numbers by Continuing to Attract New Third Party Projects
New projects by third party investors in the pipeline to be announced at Arabian Travel Market
Dubai, UAE, April 29th 2012- DUBAILAND, a Dubai Properties Group Destination, today announced at the annual Arabian Travel Market event, the introduction of several exciting projects in conjunction with third party investors. The move will broaden the tourism capacity for one of Dubai’s largest destinations, DUBAILAND, by increasing its entertainment, leisure and sports offerings.
Arabian Travel Market takes place from 30 April until 3 May at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and will be used as a key platform to announce the growing portfolio of attractions located within DUBAILAND.
As part of a recent development, a 70 million sq. ft. section was exclusively designated in DUBAILAND to host a number of eco-friendly desert experiences and will be ideally located just off the Lebab and Al Qudra Roads, a short drive from Dubai. The new desert camps will provide an ideal getaway for tourists looking to experience life as it used to be in the Bedouin camps of old Dubai, and will also feature a heritage area to create an authentic desert experience.
In 2011 alone, DUBAILAND welcomed over 13 million visitors, and with a strong pipeline of investor projects, this growing district continues to contribute to the success of Dubai as a top tourist destination with sporting, shopping, entertainment and residential communities. To further enhance the visitor experience DUBAILAND has recently re-launched its website www.dubailand.ae to showcase more effectively the many exciting activities and attractions in DUBAILAND, giving updates to visitors on news and events taking place. Categories include Shopping, Sports, and Leisure & entertainment to allow visitors to easily find what they are looking for. Highlights include the DUBAILAND Calendar which presents all ongoing activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. For each of the events, users can also send themselves text messages and email reminders, and share via social media.
Another visitor initiative is the DUBAILAND Experience Centre. Set amidst landscaped gardens, the DUBAILAND experience centre is located in the heart of DUBAILAND, only a 10 minute drive from the arterial Sheikh Zayed Road. The centre provides an engaging experience for visitors on the emergence of DUBAILAND into the popular leisure & entertainment district that it is today. DUBAILAND has tied up with a number of destination management companies, tour operators and travel trade to encourage international tourists, investors and visitors to the experience centre, which received 25,000 local and international visitors in 2011.
The centre showcases a number of mega projects in DUBAILAND through an array of exhibits ranging from a large ‘Vision Model’ to images, models and re-creations of open attractions such as Global Village, The Desert Ranch, Desert Camps, Dubai Sports City, MotorCity and Dubai Outlet Mall.
DUBAILAND attractions currently include the Els Club at Dubai Sports City, Autodrome at MotorCity, Outlet Mall, Al Sahra Desert Resort Equestrian Centre and Global Village as well as projects under development such as City of Arabia, Dubai Lifestyle City and Palmarosa.
