Dusit Makes Strong Showing at IMEX in Frankfurt
Leading Asian hospitality group Dusit International continues to promote
Bangkok, May 21, 2013 – Leading Asian hospitality group Dusit International continues to promote their “Year of Expansion” by exhibiting at IMEX in Frankfurt, Germany, a worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events from 21st-23rd May.
The Dusit International delegation is led by recently appointed Regional Director of Sales and Marketing UK and Europe, Ms Anita Skibiel. With over a decade’s experience as Director of Global Sales with Starwood Hotels and Resorts UK, Ms Skibiel and her team will oversee and develop the company’s UK, European and Scandinavian accounts across the MICE, corporate and leisure market segments.
At IMEX in Frankfurt, the team will share details of the company’s expansion plans, which sees the number of Dusit International hotels and resorts doubling over the next two years. Openings announced in 2013 include a dusitD2 in Nairobi, Kenya and a dusitD2 in Khao Yai, Thailand. Further announcements to be made in due course across the Middle East and Asia Pacific include such locations as Singapore, Doha, and a second hotel in Dubai.
On 1st May, the group’s highly anticipated second hotel project in the U.A.E., Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, hosted its soft opening. Designed with the business and conference traveller in mind, the hotel boasts 402 keys, 132 serviced apartments and a state of the art Conference Centre that can accommodate up to 2,000 guests. Its grand opening is scheduled for September this year.
Also announced in January 2013 was a joint venture agreement with a local Chinese partner which sees a minimum of 10 hotels developed over the next five years. By 2020, the aggregate number of Dusit-branded hotel rooms in China will number approximately 5,000.
At the exhibition, the company will introduce its latest meeting and events promotion, “Dusit Selection,” to the European market. Eligible meetings and events booked by 30th June 2013 and held by 30th October 2013 at participating hotels and resorts will count as one entry towards a lucky draw. The grand prize is a five nights’ stay in a 2-bedroom villa at the luxurious Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, including round-trip air fare for two from the winner’s home country. Aside from the lucky draw, the promotion offers various complimentary inclusions for event organisers to choose from, such as additional complimentary room allocations, room upgrades or special food & beverage add-ons.
Thousands of exhibitors and buyers are expected to attend IMEX in Frankfurt this year. Around 9,000 visitors over the show's three days in 2012 made last year their busiest one to date.
“We are very much looking forward to IMEX in Frankfurt this year,” says Dusit International’s Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Anita Skibiel. “Our current meetings and events offerings at Dusit International are solid across the board. With all the development plans underway, we will be able to bring our brand of gracious Thai hospitality to more locations, and offer even more choice to our valued partners in the meetings industry.”
