Picture yourself sitting within the hip venue outside, with a backdrop of the picturesque Downtown Dubai in place. Nostalgic sensations hit as you experience the new concept dating back to old markets in different regions across the world, now bringing you fun bites stirred by Japanese flavors in a sociable ambiance. You sit back and prepare to embark on your culinary adventure as you take in the interactive, delectable and innovative environment around you.
Introducing the boulevard menu, an array of fragrant finger foods and delectable mini nibbles as well as innovative sushi and nigiri finishing off with Japanese spinoffs of classic desserts to effortlessly please your palate.
Start off your street side ride with a taste of the hot appetisers such as the pan-fried Seafood Gyoza, a perfectly cooked dumpling filled with potato, black cod and shrimp, topped with a Yuzu Wasabi Sauce to tantalize your taste buds. Or you could opt for the scrumptious Toko Crispy Squid, prepared with an outer layer of crunchiness to add a touch of texture to your bite.
The cold appetisers selection will engross you further into the culinary boulevard drive. Try the boldly seasonal Sesame Spinach, which is topped with toasted sesame seeds to give you that fragrant and flavorful taste. Another inventive appetizer is the lightly seared Tuna Tataki, completed with a citric Green Chilli Ponzu sauce.
Transition into the grilled section where you will be able to choose from the options of meat, fish, and veg to satisfy all your street lover desires. Whether it’s the Grilled Rib Eye, accompanied with Garlic Chips and delicious Wafu Dressing, or the Roast Potato drizzled with a succulent Shiso Butter, the light, fresh and tempting bites will leave you in love with the street phenomenon.
The street intensive plates give you creative freedom where your choice is served accompanied with a side basket of steamed buns. Pick from morsels of delicious Smoked Duck dripped with a Plum Sauce with fresh Cucumber sides or bites of pulled Beef with a Spicy Soy Glaze & heartiness from the tasty Pickles to accompany your steaming side.
Feed your street self with the innovative dishes created with an evident fusion touch, Yatai style. The Okonomiyaki, a delicious Savory Pancake prepared with Shrimps inside and topped with fresh rucola to give it a crunch or the Takoyaki, a batter with grilled Octopus paired with Pickled Ginger and Nori, cooked to form a round shape and then topped with a Japanese barbeque sauce and mayonnaise, will plunge you fully into the novel experience.
Finally, onto the sweet street side to finalise your journey, sample the inventive Toko Sundae, served with indulgent Coffee Mousse and Honeycomb or the delicious deconstructed Yuzu Cheesecake layered with a crunchy biscuit base, Japanese citrus custard filling and topped with a whipped Chantilly cream.
The Boulevard menu is available in the Boulevard area from Sunday to Saturday, 12pm – 3pm & 6pm – 2am. Toko’s à la carte menu remains available inside the restaurant from Sunday to Saturday, 12pm – 3pm & 6pm – 2am as well. The Garden closes at 1am.
