Festive fun on the menu at Mövenpick Hotel Deira this December
Calendar of Christmas and New Year celebrations offers a unique combination of tradition and innovation for a memorable festive season in the heart of old Dubai
Dubai (UAE), 13 November 2012 – For a festive season experience with a difference, the Mövenpick Hotel Deira is the place to be this December with an exciting menu of world-class cuisine, special seasonal entertainment and surprise visits from Santa.
“We have a full line-up of Christmas and New Year activities for guests of all ages, with a homemade gingerbread arch welcoming guests to Jigsaw, our signature restaurant, cookie making classes for a younger audience at the Christmas Day family brunch, and special visits from Santa at our regular Friday brunch in the three weeks leading up to December 25th,” said Dan Benzequan, Operations Manager, Mövenpick Hotel Deira
The fun begins on Christmas Eve, with the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed dinner with family and friends at Jigsaw. Hotel executive chef Salvatore Silvestrino and his team have taken the seasonal theme to the extreme with a buffet of Christmas specialities and international favourites including a cold cuts carvery, fresh seafood bar, and the intriguing addition of the all-new ‘butler service’ interactive tapas station.
Families are invited to imbibe the festive spirit at our Christmas Day family brunch on December 25th, when the buffet table will be laden with a feast of culinary classics and innovative flavours. Highlights include an interactive grill station with lobster and lamb, traditional carvery, extensive Japanese selection, Italian favourites, a Crêpes Suzette station and endless choice of sweet treats from Stollen to fruity mince pies and creamy eggnog. Children are in for a treat with Santa on his way, plus a kids corner with activities and entertainment to keep them amused.
For a more grown-up celebration, the team has pulled out all the stops for its New Year’s Eve bubby dinner buffet, with an endless array of mouthwatering dishes including hot and cold appetisers, crisp tempura, a seafood bar, tapas station, grill selection that includes lobster tail, German sausage and Korean short-rib beef, and an indulgent Swiss chocolate fountain centerpiece. Celebration party bags and live DJ entertainment will take diners up to the countdown and into 2013.
A Green Globe Certified hotel, the Mövenpick Hotel Deira, is also emphasising its ongoing commitment to the environment and the local community over the Christmas season.
“While we all love to indulge a little more than usual over the festive period, we also need to be mindful of our impact on the environment. To draw guests’ attention to Mövenpick’s long-term sustainability initiatives, our creative in-house team has once again taken on the challenge of building a recycled Christmas tree – this time from used soft drink cans – which will take pride of place in the hotel lobby; sending out a clear message that green is our goal,” added Benzequan.
Christmas Eve buffet dinner (6.30-11 pm) and Christmas Day family brunch (12.30-4 pm) include unlimited dining and beverages from AED 155, including soft drinks; AED 195 including house beverages; AED 205 including premium beverages.
AED 55 for children aged seven to 12 years; children under six years’ eat for free.
New Year’s Eve bubbly buffet (8 pm to 2 am), AED 345 including house beverages and a glass of bubbles at midnight.
