Fitness First Announces Family Fun-Day for Charity
Carnival to Raise Funds for Africa’s Children-in-Need
Dubai-UAE: 07 July, 2012 – Fitness First Middle East is set to host a unique charity carnival to complement the funds raised for 'Step up for the Children of Africa' initiative (SFTCOA), which was run across Fitness First clubs throughout June to support orphan and street children in Tanzania.
Scheduled to be held at Fitness First Meadows Sports Hall on 13 July, from 11:00am to 6:00pm, the event will feature activities and entertainment for families.
Residents across the UAE are invited to enjoy adrenalin boosting activities including fitness demos of TRX, Kettle Bells and ViPR, as well as a body step master class charity marathon. In addition, the event will host an exhibition on healthy living with partners such as Balance Café, Delmonte, Kaya skin clinic, Jabra, Balance Wellness 360 and I-care clinic. Visitors can also participate in a grand prize raffle draw and refresh themselves with nutritious and delectable food and beverages served at the Balance Café kiosk.
A dedicated ‘Fun City’ children's fun area will keep the little ones engaged in activities such as face painting, magic acts, bouncy castle, arts and crafts corner, mascots, competitions, penalty shoots.
Furthermore, the ‘Team Stepper Challenge’ that will invite the fastest five members and staff from each Fitness First outlet who took part in the SFTCOA initiative to climb 1,600 floors will make for a thrilling spectacle.
Additionally, two winners of the 'Step up for the Children of Africa' competition will be recognised at the event. The prize includes their participation in the 'Gulf 4 Good 2012 Kilimanjaro Challenge' in July.
'Step up for the Children of Africa' is Fitness First’s Middle East-wide charity event for 2012, which mobilised thousands of its members to climb 5,895 meters on the steppers set-up at the clubs. The initiative is in aid of Amani Children's Home, an organisation dedicated to protecting street children and AIDS orphans in Tanzania.
With 23 clubs across the UAE offering state-of-the-art equipment, fully qualified personal trainers and the latest group exercise classes, Fitness First is dedicated to ‘making the world a fitter place’.
