Fitness First to Support ‘Walk for Life’ Event
Philippines Business Council Initiative to Help Flood Victims
Dubai-UAE: 5 January, 2012 – Fitness First, the world’s number one health and fitness club chain and a member of the Landmark Group, today announced its support to the ‘Walk for Life’ initiative, which aims to raise funds for victims of the recent floods in the Philippines.
To be held on 7 January at the Safa Park at 7.00am. ‘Walk for Life’ is a Philippine Business Council initiative organised in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD). The event will invite participants to make a contribution of AED50 each. The funds raised will be donated to the Philippines’ National Red Cross.
As part of the day-long activities at the event, Fitness First will host group exercise classes on several fitness regimes including Zumba, BodyJam, BodyBalance, and BodyCombat.
George Flooks, COO, Fitness First, said: “We are glad to participate in this initiative that will help victims of the floods, particularly those living in Cagayan De Oro where over 1,000 people have died and most survivors lost their homes to the natural disaster.”
