Fitness First’s Global Mala Yoga Event Attracts over 200 Participants
Proceeds to Support Destitute Children in Sierra Leone
Dubai-UAE: 5 October, 2011 – Fitness First Middle East, a Fitness First franchise owned and operated under licence by Landmark Leisure and Hospitality Services Ltd, successfully concluded its ‘Global Mala Yoga for Peace Project’ event drawing over 200 participants across its clubs in the UAE, Jordan and Qatar.
Fitness First held yoga sessions on 24 and 25 September as part of its association with the global event, Global Yoga Mala for Peace Project, which annually brings together the worldwide yoga community and marks the United Nation’s International Day of Peace.
The event was open to both members and non-members for a nominal fee of AED20. The proceeds of AED4,635 (SLL5,716,302) raised by the initiative has been earmarked for ‘All as One’, a charity organization for orphaned and destitute children in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Fitness First has supported the foundation in Sierra Leone since 2007. Contribution from the club has to date benefited 22 orphaned and abandoned children, giving them a life-transforming gift.
