Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva Opens Brand New Fitness Centre and Year-Round Pool
In September 2013 a New Spa and Restaurant will be added to the historic hotel on Lake Geneva
August 6th: On the shore of Lake Geneva, surrounded by the Jura Mountains and Swiss Alps, stands a landmark hotel that has helped shape the history of a continent. Now, 179 years after the debut of this grande dame, Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva is once again transforming with the addition of 18 new rooms and suites and the redecoration of 21 others by esteemed French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. Crowning the renovation will be a rooftop terrace with sweeping views of Mont Blanc and the lake’s famous Jet d'Eau fountain, plus an all-new spa, fitness centre and year-round pool.
The historic Hotel des Bergues, built in 1834 in neo-classic style, has seen many transformations over the years, most recently in 2005 when it became a Four Seasons Hotel. Rochon also created the Hotel’s signature look then, employing a palette of blues and greens that reflect the waters of Lake Geneva, enhanced with floral arrangements by Serge Marzetta. Once host to the fledgling League of Nations, today the Hotel is a favoured address of business travellers, as well as those enticed by the city’s chic shops, historic sites, museums and serene setting, and the Hotel’s Il Lago restaurant.
“Many of our guests see Four Seasons as their pied à terre in Geneva,” says General Manager José Silva. “The Hotel’s ambience is that of an elegant private residence, and our 250 staff – including a team of personal assistants – is there to ensure every need is anticipated, and every wish granted.”
Rooms and Suites - The renovation program has been completed in 2012 with the unveiling of eighteen contemporary rooms and suites, each with its own fireplace and oversized bathroom. In addition, 21 existing rooms have been redecorated. Four new Presidential Suites were opened, bringing the total available to five.
Spa Mont Blanc - In September 2013, Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues will debut a full service Spa, offering transformational treatments, as well as soothing experiences for the busy traveller. Trained fitness, nutrition and life balance instructors will guide guests in the new, state-of-the-art Fitness Centre, which will also feature a sumptuous locker room, wet area and relaxation lounge.
Japanese Restaurant ‘Izumi’ – Guests will ascend to the rooftop of the Hotel, where they will find an urban oasis unlike any other in Geneva. A broad terrace will invite leisurely relaxation, refreshment and stunning views over lake and mountains offering an iconic Japanese food concept.
Pool– The Hotel has just opened the rooftop swimming pool, glassed in for year-round use, with wonderful views of the old city and Jura Mountains. The Pool also offers a vitality section with a circuit of different massage jets.
