Free WiFi connectivity during transfers now available on route to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts
Seamless internet connection from airports to hotels in the Middle East and Asia implemented by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts
Dubai (United Arab Emirates), 3 March 2014. Guests who use the airport transfer service of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts can now take advantage of complimentary WiFi connectivity on their way to the property where they stay. The initiative is part of the upscale hospitality company’s aim to add value through the use of progressive technology.
Hotel limousines of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts across the Middle East and Asia have been fitted with a 4G Lite WiFi car mobile device. This enables guests to connect to the internet through their personal devices or alternatively via the in-car iPad provided by most of the hotels.
"Initial feedback from our guests is extremely positive and many are very impressed by the seamless connectivity they can experience in this way from the airport to their room," said Roger Macfarlaine, vice president Technology for the Middle East and Asia. "It’s been very rewarding to witness the impact this additional benefit has made to our guests in terms of an enjoyable arrival. I have no doubt this will eventually be adopted by others in the hospitality industry, given the fast pace of change in technology."
The WiFi connectivity in the car allows guests to receive news and information alerts as well as communicate through e-mail. Complimentary use of the in-car iPad also gives them access to music and hotel information like restaurant menus and reservations, spa services, upcoming events at the hotel and around the city.
The complimentary service has already been implemented at 21 Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts properties with more to follow in the coming months. Destinations where the service is presently available include Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Sana’a, Al Khobar, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Tala Bay, Aqaba, Phuket, Cebu, Hanoi and Singapore.
