Sheraton Dubai, Mall of the Emirates Hotel celebrates a year of success in sustainable practice.
Over the last two years, Sheraton Dubai, Mall of the Emirates has been carefully monitoring energy consumption and implementing cutting-edge technology and programs across all departments of the hotel, resulting in 5% reduction in electricity consumption, 17.5% reduction in water consumption, and 50% reduction in excess waste.
Sheraton is renowned for being one of the eco-friendliest hotel brands in the Middle East with continued efforts in keeping tourist destinations clean. Sheraton Dubai, Mall of the Emirates Hotel shares the same dedication to sustainability, and participates in Dubai’s green initiatives such as ‘Clean up the World’ that ensures public beaches are clean, unpolluted and safe, amongst other activities.
To further support the city’s green efforts, the hotel inspires environmental-consciousness with an acclaimed practice of “Choose Your Fish Wisely” a proactive measure taken to include locally sourced, organic and sustainable seafood and ingredients. The practice is applied to all offerings including restaurants, banquets, catering, and in-room dining.
Program Make A Green Choice (MAGC) additionally at the Sheraton Dubai, Mall of the Emirates Hotel rewards staying guests with points or vouchers at participating outlets if they opt to forego full housekeeping services which can mean significant savings in water, electricity, natural gas and use of chemicals. The rewards are provided as points towards any following stay at other Starwood properties and or can be used towards participating food and beverage outlets.

This March, the hotel is partnering with high-profile Dubai-based companies to host a sustainability exhibition and conference, that allows speakers to share and discuss tried, tested and effective energy saving measures.
The Sheraton Dubai, Mall of The Emirates Hotel will join millions around the world in turning off lights for Earth Hour 2016 to illuminate a powerful message about environmental awareness and action. Vantage Bar situated on the fifth floor of the hotel, will offer guests complimentary canapes under the stars, on the sprawling candle-lit terrace of the venue. Sheraton’s Award winning Chef Waleed Al Sadik will create a sustainability inspired menu that includes delectable savories paired with alluring beverages.
Earth Hour 2016 takes place on Saturday, 19 March between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, local time.
