GOURMET CONNOISSEURS’ ANNUAL EVENT RETURNS TO RIYADH FOR WEEK OF CLASSIC & CONTEMPORARY CUISINE
The Al Faisaliah Globe Summit to run in February 2012 with world renowned Grand Chefs and expanded format
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 28th December 2011: The most anticipated annual gastronomic event in the Kingdom returns in February 2012 with an expanded menu of cuisines, additional culinary activities and a total of three premium venues within Riyadh’s leading luxury hotel.
The Al Faisaliah Globe Summit, a five day extravaganza masterminded by the Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel takes place from the 13th to 17th February 2012 and brings together four world renowned chefs to create dining experiences in the finest contemporary and classic styles.
From their acclaimed kitchens in France, Italy, Mexico and the U.S. the Grand Chefs are set to delight the palates of Saudi Arabia’s most discerning diners with a series of inspiring studio lunches, enlightening culinary seminars and a final 8-course fine dining Grand Gala Dinner.
The schedule of events runs across three venues: the international award-winning The Globe restaurant atop the Al Faisaliah Tower, the contemporary La Cucina restaurant in the stylish new Al Faisaliah Hotel South, and The Cristal, the haute dining destination in the Al Faisaliah Hotel North.
Guests can look forward to savouring French fusion at its finest from Chef Michel Portos, holder of two Michelin stars and a maestro at cooking simple fine cuisine with special touches from Asia, the Mediterranean basin and the Maghreb.
Fellow Frenchman Chef Nicholas Blouin, now based in the U.S at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, brings his extensive experience in Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Switzerland to the kitchens in Riyadh, creating whimsical desserts that are bold in colour and rich in flavour.
Transporting his expertise of Mexican cuisine to the Al Faisaliah Globe Summit, Executive Chef Carlos Hannon from Rosewood San Miguel de Allende in Mexico will be bringing a unique culinary experience to every table.
Finally, double Michelin-starred chef, Italian Chef Nino di Costanzo completes the quartet of award winning professionals set to surprise and delight diners with their creative culinary compositions. Recent winner of the Relais Gourmand Artist Chef prize, Chef Nino is a true 21st century chef, marrying creative cuisine with technology.
