HMH Strengthens Position in Levant
Announces New Projects in Jordan & Lebanon
HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings formalized contracts for two new projects in Jordan and one in Lebanon. Michel Noblet, President & CEO, HMH, said, “We are delighted to sign these stunning new hotels in the Levant region. Coral Manja Resort is a beautiful 72-units property superbly located in Madaba while Coral Hotel is an amazing 190 keys hotel in Aqaba. Equally fascinating is the ultra luxurious Coral Concorde, a 68-keys boutique property situated in central Beirut.”
The new signings take the HMH portfolio of hotels to nine in Levant with four properties located in Jordan, three in Lebanon and two in Syria. Key openings for the group in 2011 include Coral Martini – Aleppo (149 rooms) and Corp Executive Hotel – Amman (108 rooms) both of which are designed to offer travelers greater luxury and comfort. Once all nine hotels are open by the end of 2012, the HMH inventory of rooms in Levant region will increase to 849 from the existing 262 rooms.
Despite the political unrest, Michel expects to see opportunities for the industry in the region. He said, “We are definitely evaluating the situation. The recent political events have been so sweeping, broad and unexpected that it is difficult to say anything more at the moment. Most of us are in the wait and watch situation until the dust has settled and order is restored.
Destinations such as Lebanon, Jordan and Syria will remain under pressure for a while. However, as businessmen we take a long term view on the region. A stable and secure environment is certainly needed to lure back visitors to the region.”
