INCREASE THE PEACE: HOTEL DE LA PAIX MOVES INTO THAILAND AND LAOS WITH TWO UNIQUE RESORTS
BANGKOK, THAILAND – Award-winning Asian brand Hotel de la Paix expands into Thailand and Laos, with the official launch of the Hotel de la Paix Cha Am Beach Hua Hin and Hotel de la Paix Luang Prabang.
Hotel de la Paix Cha Am Beach offers guests unlimited scope to reflect on its gasp-inducing architecture, sublime beachfront location and artistic approach to luxury.

Both properties feature design by renowned Thailand architect Duangrit Bunnag and will build on the arts and community positioning established by the brand's first property, Hotel de la Paix Siem Reap.
Hotel de la Paix Cha Am Beach features the contemporary comfort and cutting-edge style of Duangrid Bunnag's piece-de-resistance; an architectural statement where every vista is an epiphany and every angle a photo opportunity, set against the seaside charm of unspoiled Cha Am. Its grand courtyard, endless stretch of white marble stairs and rooftop reflection pool create the ultimate sense of arrival; beyond, the promenade and fishing villages of Cha Am evoke a sense of nostalgia.
The wow factor doesn't stop there however with 60sq m standard studios with 4m high ceiling to floor glass in Bunnag's signature ‘spacial poetry' style, complimentary mini bar with local beers, juices and snacks refreshed daily and the most memorable shower guests are ever likely to take. All of this is set against a pristine beachfront location near the seaside town of Cha Am, just two hours' drive from Bangkok. Hotel de la Paix Cha Am Beach topped Trip Advisor in its region last year, also offering golf and spa mini-breaks.
In Luang Prabang, where time seems to stand still, discover a timeless gem that is a World Heritage treasure, a showcase of contemporary interior design and a place where art and culture thrive.
The Hotel de la Paix's 79 studios and pool villas also feature the height of hi-tech with WiFi, 42-inch flatscreen TV, Apple TV pre-loaded with music and movies, and an in-built home theatre system that will even entertain you in the bathroom. The Pool Villas are 260 sqm, with a 3.8 x 9.6 metre swimming pool, and have become the stuff of legend; each a sanctuary of unsurpassed privacy, with green-walled garden, private lap pool and extensive terrace grounds. Each villa features a master bedroom, lounge and dining areas, and a convertible space that may be used as a second bedroom, nursery or study.
At Hotel de la Paix Luang Prabang, a bastion of pure peace and quiet offers the perfect refuge for lovers and dreamers, in the midst of ancient wonders. This resort is utterly unique; a boutique resort that is a World Heritage treasure, a colonial moment preserved in amber, and a showcase of Duangrit Bunnag's contemporary interior design.
Hotel de la Paix Luang Prabang stands upon a UNESCO site in the former royal capital of Laos. Once a Governor's mansion, a garrison and briefly a jail, the century old structure has been restored to absolute luxury. Today, 23 spacious suites await, each with a walled rear garden and a terrace overlooking a sun-kissed courtyard; some with their own expansive and very private swimming pools.
The property features Baan Silpa, a faithfully recreated Laos village where local craftsman and artisans go about their business, around a shaded grass square bounded by two traditional pavilions. Guests can also take part in Thai cooking classes in an open kitchen where the resort's master chef shares timeless recipes in a kitchen equipped with every modern convenience.
Nigel Tovey, Hotel de la Paix Cha Am Beach General Manager, said he was delighted to see the brand begin to grow with these two unique hotels in stunning and unspoiled destinations. "Within the brand's strong art and community positioning, what we are trying to do is allow each hotel to develop a very individual identity that plays to its strengths and to its target market. I'm very excited about some new initiatives that are coming to fruition that will involve activities as diverse as golf, spa, the performing arts and photography. I can't say more for now, but suffice it to say we are thinking big … and thinking beyond the box."
Kevin O'Hagan, Hotel de la Paix Luang Prabang General Manager, shares Mr Tovey's enthusiasm for the brand's expansion and its potential to become one of Asia's most innovative and exciting hotel and resort brands. "Hotel de la Paix is about offering guests authentic experiences, providing spaces were art lives and breathes, and allowing guests the chance to engage on a meaningful level with the community. Here in Luang Prabang we also have some very exciting new initiatives coming down the pipeline and you will be hearing a lot more about Hotel de la Paix very soon. Stay tuned."
The Hotel de la Paix Siem Reap, the brand's first property, has been named one of the top 100 Asian hotels by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler and one of the Top 15 Resorts Asia by Travel + Leisure magazine. Hotel de la Paix actively supports emerging Khmer artists and artists with a connection to the country and the revival of art in Cambodia, by exhibiting new artists bi-monthly throughout the year.
