After cutting the red, white and green ribbon – replicating the colours of the Italian national flag – and officially opening the restaurant for business, Mr. Fiore said: "It is an honour and a pleasure to be officially opening Pompeii today. It is fantastic to see this Italian restaurant open in Jumeirah Lake Towers, as Italian cuisine continues to develop throughout Dubai. It's also commendable that Pompeii uses Italian suppliers for its ingredients and kitchen appliances - like the wood-fired oven, which looks really authentic."
Besides Mr. Fiore and Ms. Autuori, the grand opening was attended by local office workers, local residents and a number of prominent Dubai-based restaurateurs.
Cheryl Vaughn, Director, Pompeii, commented on the restaurant’s official opening: “Our official opening today is the culmination of a lot of hard work and this it is a proud moment for everybody involved in the launch of Pompeii.
I am extremely confident about its future success, we have so many potential revenue streams here, from the offices and residents in JLT, to the commuters using the Metro and of course home delivery.”
Guests who packed-out the restaurant as well as the adjoining terrace, sampled Pompeii’s authentic Italian taste from a range of fresh salads and pastas at the live cooking stations, as well as wood-fired pizzas and a selection of delicious Italian desserts.
Behzad Ahadpour, owner of Pompeii, said: “Once we had sourced the location our operational strategy was very simple and very clear. We wanted to create a genuine, casual atmosphere and serve some great Italian food at reasonable prices. Judging by the feedback we’ve had today, I would say that we’ve achieved that and then some.”
Pompeii Italian Restaurant and Café, in Dubai, is the first restaurant operating under the ‘Pompeii’ brand-mark. The Roman-themed restaurant is just a short walk away from the JLT Dubai Marina metro station, where customers can immerse themselves in a lively Latin experience and sample the rustic recipes of the ‘lost city’ while admiring JLT’s contemporary skyline, from its garden patio.
Pompeii evokes the true taste of authentic ‘old country’ Italian flavours with its array of luscious lasagnes, seasonal salads, beautiful bruchettas, resplendent raviolis, wood-fired pizzas, calzones, Italian deli sandwiches as well as grilled steaks and seafood.
Pompeii’s opening hours are from 8:00am to midnight 7 days a week, with free delivery available from 10:00am to midnight. It is located in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Cluster T – 1 Lake Plaza, opposite the JLT Dubai Marina Metro Station, overlooking the JLT lakes.
