JEDDAH’S diners sample a taste of italy
Italian Food Festival at Rosewood Corniche
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 19 October 2011: Jeddah’s premier luxury hotel Rosewood Corniche will take diners on a culinary tour of fine traditional and modern Italian food during its Italian food festival from 26 October to 4 November.
Chef Claudio Melis invites Jeddah diners to enjoy traditional and modern Italian dishes at Rosewood Corniche’s Italian food festival.
Under the guidance of Chef Claudio Melis from Italian restaurant La Cucina at sister Rosewood property Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, staff at Rosewood Corniche’s Habsburg restaurant will prepare and serve Italian food from eight live cooking stations.
The luxury hotel will offer diverse items not usually found in the Kingdom, such as Sicilian street food, Italian gelati and traditional comfort food like slow-cooked, meat-heavy ‘mamma style’ dishes. Prices for the festival start at SAR165 per person plus a 15% service charge.
“My aim is to introduce the people of Jeddah to my favourite Italian dishes,” said Melis. “We have sourced the very best ingredients for our diners so they can truly understand the flavours of Italy.”
Amid panoramic views of the Red Sea, festival guests will feel like they have been transported to Florence, Rome and Venice as they enjoy soothing Italian music and elaborate decorations while live cooking displays will reveal gastronomic secrets from the old country.
“We would like to elevate the Italian experience for our guests by bringing in specialties they may not have tried before in Saudi Arabia while also satisfying their desire for well prepared, quality favourites” said Hans-Peter Leitzke, Managing Director at Rosewood Corniche.

All Italian festival diners will have the chance to enter a raffle to win one of six round-trip tickets to Milan or Rome with Gulf Air. Winners will be chosen by a random draw on the last day of the festival.
Those eager to take part will be able to dine each evening from 19:00 to midnight throughout the festival. A mixture of Italian items and more traditional Arabic food will be available during Friday brunch on 28 October and 4 November.
Designed for both business and leisure travellers, Rosewood Corniche is ideally positioned on Jeddah’s Corniche, one of the city’s most impressive districts. The celebrated Jeddah Corniche runs parallel to the Red Sea for over 32 Kilometres and provides convenient access to the city’s business and leisure areas.
As the premier hotel in Jeddah, the stunning Rosewood Corniche redefines modern elegance and offers unparalleled personal service and world-class amenities, including 24-hour butler service for each of the 127 guest rooms and suites.
