Landmark Group launches first Carluccio’s branch in Kuwait
Carluccio’s, the authentic Italian caffé, restaurant and foodshop is NOW OPEN in The Avenues in Kuwait

Kuwait City: 22 February, 2011 – Landmark Group, the region’s leading retail and hospitality conglomerate, today launched Carluccio’s, the internationally renowned café, restaurant and foodshop in Kuwait. After being a huge hit with diners in the Middle East from Dubai to Qatar, Carluccio’s will give Kuwait a taste of truly authentic Italian cuisine at great value for money.
Located at level one of the Avenues Mall, the launch drew a crowd of ambassadors, prominent dignitaries, VIP guests and the local media. Senior management from the Landmark Group and officials from Carluccio’s flew in especially to present Carluccio’s to Kuwait residents.
During the launch Naveed Dowlatshahi, Head of Foodmark, the Food division of Landmark Group said: “The opening of this restaurant is a part of Landmark Group’s expansion plans in the hospitality segment in the region. Carluccio’s is all about authentic Italian cuisine at great value for money, after being a hit with diners from Doha and Dubai, we wanted to give both locals and expats in Kuwait to experience a little taste of Italy”.
Carluccio's restaurant offers great value for money with everything from breakfasts and morning coffees through to light meals and lunches. Indulge in options including a colazione magnifica, deliciously scrambled eggs with sautéed mushrooms, tomato and toasted ciabatta perfect with a pot of freshly brewed Italian coffee to begin the day.
For a more indulgent meal, try the fresh pasta made from scratch at the caffè, which can, of course, be enjoyed with a classic starter or dessert. Other classic choices include the perennially popular penne giardiniera ,penne with courgette, chilli and deep-fried spinach balls with parmesan and garlic, the pasta con funghi pappardelle with a mix of shiitake, oyster, porcini and button mushrooms and the homemade ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta and served with butter and sage.
In the evening, Carluccio's welcomes diners who are looking for a more relaxed dining experience making it the ideal venue for romantic candlelit dinners for two as well as social gatherings with friends.
Carluccio’s is all about fresh ingredients, and celebrates each season from primavera right through to inverno with varying weekly deli and restaurant specials, cooking demonstrations and seasonal dishes.
Having originated in the UK, the first "Carluccio's Café" was opened in 1999 in London and has gone on to expand to 45 locations across the UK and 56 worldwide. Carluccio’s captures the essence of contemporary Italian dining in a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere.
In true Italian style, children can enjoy the same high-quality Italian means as the adults with their own dedicated menu.
