Lighting of Hearts event
Kuala Lumpur, 29 June 2016 – This year, KLGCC once again organized the Lighting of Hearts event with 40 underprivileged children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim / Miskin Klang (PEYAKIN Home), to enjoy their evening break-fast together with their care-takers at the prestigious golf club in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC).
The children and their care-takers departed from Klang and arrived at KLGCC around 5 in the evening in their beautiful outfits. Everyone were warmly greeted by the Club Manager, Farroul Hossey at the main entrance, followed by the PR & Communications team. The crowd was later invited for a bowling session at the club while waiting for the time to break-fast.
The elder group of children divided into groups of six for each lane, they were so excited that they immediately put on their bowling shoes, selected their ideal size of bowling balls and quickly decided on their group names. The younger group of children were also having fun at the kiddy bowling lanes. The Chief Executive Officer of KLGCC, Steven Thielke joined in the fun and demonstrated his bowling skills and tricks to the audience. The children also enjoyed playing pool billiards located next to the bowling alley.
At around 7pm, the children were called to gather at the KLGCC Piano Lounge for Berbuka Puasa. The Majlis Berbuka Puasa was hosted by Steven Thielke, Chief Executive Officer of KLGCC, Dato’ Mustafa Mohd Ali, Club Captain, and Farroul Hossey, Club Manager together with the management and staff of KLGCC.
The event started off with a warm greeting by the emcee, continued with an opening speech by the Club Captain of KLGCC, Dato’ Mustafa Mohd Ali and recitation of Doa. The children indulged in a sweet date to officially break the fast right after the announcement of Azan and followed by the Mahgrib prayers.
The children continued to indulge in the delectable spread of buffet, while Dato’ Mustafa and Steven Thielke distributed goodies to all 40 children in the house. The Principle of PEYAKIN Home, Tuan Haji Wan and care-takers were also presented with a Raya Hamper gift as well as 3 boxes of scrumptious traditional Malay Kuih by the Club Manager, Farroul Hossey.
The event ended with a group photograph session on stage with beaming smiles across the children’s faces. The crowd later proceeded with Terawih prayers and the night ended peacefully.
