Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah offers a hands-on learning experience for the youngest of the future workforce by allowing them to feel what it's like to be an employee in a five-star hotel.
Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah and GEMS Westminster School in Ras Al Khaimah have launched a brand new educational project where children between the ages of eight and thirteen will have a unique opportunity to work in a five-star hotel for a day.
The newest members of the hotel team will work a half-day shift with all the responsibilities and duties that it entails, be it concierge, sous chef, front office agent or waiter. When children arrive for their shift, they will adorn hotel uniforms, wear nametags, and start a training program to learn the basics of working in a hotel.
The new recruits will shadow senior team members throughout the day enabling them to gain useful educational experiences, and a chance to be a part of one of the most interesting professional fields in the world – hospitality.
“Designed to empower and inspire, this project gives the youngest generation a chance to challenge themselves and think about the career they may pursue in the future. The Little Hoteliers experience is available each month and available for up to five students at a time.
