Miele unveils line-up of culinary master sessions for the new season
Celebrity chefs and seasonally themed cooking sessions to offer something for everyone; season kicks off with Andy Campbell’s signature lamb trio
Miele, one of the world’s leading producers of premium home appliances, is set to launch its new season of the Miele cookery experience at the state-of-the-art Miele Gallery on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road.
Starting on 19 September 2012, the weekly series of interactive culinary experiences include seasonally relevant sessions as well as the opportunity to cook alongside some of the region’s best-known chefs and gastronomic celebrities.
Building on the success of Miele’s inaugural pre-summer sessions with leading celebrity chef Suzanne Husseini and Galeries Lafayette executive chef, Russell Impiazzi and the brand’s sell-out culinary showcase at the annual Taste of Dubai festival, foodies of all ages will be catered for with dedicated sessions for kids and adults on offer.
Located in Sama Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, the programme launches with a trio of lamb session on 15 September with popular British chef Andy Campbell. Campbell has worked with top TV chef Anthony Worrrell Thompson and Marco Pierre White in the UK, and is also the name behind several of his own restaurants including Andy’s at 23 Romilly Street – one of London’s most prestigious private members clubs – and organic-focused fine dining venue Andy’s, located in Jumeirah Gardens, Dubai.
Following on from chef Andy Campbell’s session, chef Russell Impiazzi will demonstrate a kid-friendly ‘Back to Baking’ session on 6 October, at which young amateur chefs will learn how to make a delicious range of goodies including homemade bread, scones and biscuits under the expert tutelage of Galeries Lafayette executive chef, Russell Impiazzi.
Gaby Koudsi, managing director for Miele in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), said: “The Miele Gallery offers both professional and amateur chefs a unique environment in which to showcase their skills or learn something new.
The extraordinary demand for our cooking sessions and is a part of Miele’s global brand awareness strategy, prompted us to expand our original culinary calendar. This gave us the flexibility to offer something for cooks at every level - across different seasonal themes - and bring in some of the industry’s most popular culinary exponents.”
Commenting on the September baking session, Russell Impiazzi said: “This is a great opportunity to bring the region’s culinary community and the food-loving public together in a world-class culinary environment. We are passionate about food at Galeries Lafayette and I am personally very excited to be introducing the next generation of young chefs to the world of baking!”
Impiazzi’s culinary pedigree includes roles with legendary UK based chef Marco Pierre White and Hyatt International; and he is credited with developing the Wafi culinary portfolio which includes the long-running Carter’s brunch and award-winning Italian restaurant, Medzo.
Other sessions already confirmed on the Miele Gallery calendar include Halloween treats for kids, with pumpkin pie on the menu; a truffle themed experience in November; festive fun ahead of the Christmas holiday season for both kids and adults in December; and a French-inspired experience in the New Year to make the most of the cooler weather with fondues and hearty casseroles.
“The Miele sessions offer amateur cooks the chance to expand their culinary repertoires and also pick up the tricks of the trade, from knife skills and time-saving tips to one-on-one advice from the masters themselves,” remarked Koudsi.
