Accor Eyes Qatar’s Strong Tourism Potential
Accor and Msheireb Hospitality have joined forces to develop and manage an MGallery hotel in Doha. The MGallery will be a distinctive “boutique hotel” that will offer a modern interpretation of Qatari heritage and hospitality, within the prestigious Msheireb Downtown Doha, and will be located opposite the traditional Souq Waqif and yet close to the airport and Doha’s business districts.
Further to the recent appointment of Accor by Msheireb Hospitality to operate and manage this hotel under MGallery Brand, Jean-Jacques Dessors, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for Africa, Middle East, Indian Ocean and Caribbean Islands and Christophe Landais, Accor Middle East Managing Director, accompanied by senior development executives met with Abdul Aziz Al Emadi, CEO of Msheireb Hospitality, on 29th February 2012 in Doha, Qatar.

Accor also shares our passion in creating a new hub in this part of the city, which integrates the best elements of Doha’s historical heritage with innovative facilities”.
“Developing a modern hotel that reflects the Qatari culture and heritage fits very well with our strategy to introduce innovative and integrated hospitality products that will enrich the hospitality sector in Doha and contribute to the broader vision of the country, supporting the tourism industry to promote Qatar as an international tourist destination”, Al Emadi added.
Jean-Jacques Dessors said: “The very fast development of world-class infrastructure has positioned Doha as an international hub, attracting not only business travellers but also more and more leisure guests. Based on Qatar’s extremely high potential for hospitality and tourism, Doha appears as a priority market for the development of the Accor hotels network in the Middle East.”
This boutique hotel will be the first of its kind in Qatar. It will feature 215 rooms, and in addition to meeting facilities, an exclusive spa and a stunning outdoor pool. The property will offer original cafes and restaurants concepts as well as terraces overlooking unique views of the Mshereib district and the Souq Waqif.

All the collection’s hotels are remarkable and unique, with their own distinctive personalities. Each one tells a story, inviting the traveler to live an experience through its architecture, interior and services. Every establishment draws its inspiration from one of the collection’s three atmospheres. Some, like the Hotel de la Cité, are locations steeped in history that highlight their ancient origins –“Heritage”. Others, like the Hotel Muse Bangkok, are esthetic universes, reflecting a style, a design, the “Signature” of a celebrity who contributed to creating or decorating the establishment. Lastly, others, like the Capovaticano Resort Thalasso & Spa in Italy, are an invitation to relax in a fabulous natural setting –“Serenity”-, on the seaside, in the countryside, in the mountains or in an urban “oasis”. All of these establishments are different, but each one invites travelers to share and discover memorable experiences.
The MGallery collection was launched by Accor in September 2008 and is now present in all five continents. The network will expand to over 150 establishments by end 2015.
